Still a work in progress, just got the rear suspension set up, head stay and motor mounts next.

Yes the tires are on backwards, but only because this is still in process
This is a Cannondale frame, drive chain is on wrong side. For now I just flipped the axle and carrier over.

Want to thank Solid Bro for the idea of using the honda upper shock mount, still looking for another along with a swingarm to put another frame together.

I have read many topics on the CR5 vibrations in quad frames, some have tried rubber mounting, this only makes things worse. I am going with a good head stay, location should be close to the bike mount, I'm thinking for the bottom mount I may make it so that I can use a shoulder bushing bearing against the case, that way I can start out with aluminum, and have the option to replace with urathane or nylon, this would only allow for a very small amount of movement but may help prevent frame cracks. front mount design will be simular to the TRX mounts which have a little jog, I have to assume that the designers did that to make it a bit of a spring, can't hurt.
Factory cannondale bar mounts already have vibration isolators, I think that the fact that this will always be on sand will also help reduce the vibration. We shall see

I could have easily made a 3 wheeler using the CR swingarm as is would have been 2 in the front 1 in the back

I saw a thread of someone making a counterballanced 500 motor but they were going about it all wrong, If I were to try it I would use the counter balance out of an FL400 pilot, same stroke as the 500. I have no intrest in that project

I've seen this one before, didn't pay much attention but it does apear that the sprocket is too low and will be constantly trying to saw through the chain guide and swing arm.

The motor in mine is tilted down a little more than when finished, right now it is just sitting on the cradle. it will still end up a little lower than preferred but got to fit the carb

So is it actually lighter than the stock Fourtrax frame or a chromoly frame that you can get from Laeger's?

Just curious what the aluminum frame weighs

have not decided to weld it up myself or have Power Pros do it.

I will have to go with an internal tailpipe, from what I have read there is no disadvantage, pretty sure that is what some of the kart pipes use.

The tail pipe that we are all familiar with runs out the back to the silencer, with this one it will run back into the rear cone. after that I'll be looking on how to silence it, or just wear ear plugs

Took the mockup over to Power Pros today, I'm probably going to have Don complete the pipe for me, it will be around $350

Pipe was built at PowerPros, cost was $350, not $275
Still, I've got to think of it as a bargin.
