hi guys, sorry for asking again but I searched a bunch and couldn't find it. What's the name of the sealant you are having success with so there is no leaking at the cylinder?

thanks

I use Toyota form in place gasket, just because I usually have a partial tube laying around. This is basically just overpriced black RTV.

Biggest thing is get the oil off of the surface inside the pipe and outside of the manifold to give it a fighting chance.

And pushing the pipe on ONCE.

Get the springs on, and let it set overnight.

i clean it real good then again with brakleen, ultra copper and let it dry overnight never had issues
tried that stove rope, but couldnt get the pipe on, even after smashing it flat with a rubber hammer and crazy gluing it in place, i think it was 5/16"

I have I think 6 pipes...nothing compared to Bobs collection. I love riding rocks so I am constantly bashing pipes which then leads to cracking. I used to clean it up real good and I am just fat old and lazy half the time now and just want to ride. I jam them on with RTV when they are not really all that clean and still have no problems. If you listen to these guys and do it right you will have zero problems. High temp RTV pick a color...I like black, good to go.

the gold stuff is higher temp than the black.

I personally like Chamber-Seal. But, it is hard to find

Yamabond. Put a ring around the flange and then slip the pipe and springs on. It will set and then you can cut off the excess with a knife...

Am I the only one that doesn't use any sealant?
I have never had a problem yet, the pipe is enough of a bitch to get off now, with sealant seams like it would be nearly impossible without taking off the stub.

Chamber-seal ... Now that's a name I have not heard for a long long time.

Where are you finding it these days?

Ultra black for me.

They come off fine with RTV on there. Running a sealant cuts down on vibes and free power increase. Plus you won't wear out your pipe and manifold.

Going to take your word for it and seal it up, I noticed after one weekend I had plenty of leakage with new seals.
So when you do the RTV do you stuill use the stock metal seal?

I do. It helps stabilize things....

I had some thin o-rings laying around, I put one of them on to center the pipe on the flange. stock ring would do the same thing.
