I'm tearing the engine on the '85 down for inspection and found this?
Anybody seen a head like this?
I don't know anything about this bike except it's got PR Racing scribbled on the jug.
I took it to a friend that has a bore guage to see what's up with the cylinder.
It's out of round but he said it's odd.
It's wider left to right rather than front to back.
Here's a couple of pics. The middle numbers were really close to the top numbers.

Elaborate a little please, I don't know what I'm looking at.

Its about controlling and directing the intake charge as it flows up the cylinder and across the combustion chamber.
What that guy did dosent look drastic enough to influence anything...

PR Racing. If it is the same company, its a local engine shop.
PR Racing Engines
2790 Tremainsville Road
Toledo, OH 43613
They have always done some interesting things. Everything I have ever ridden that they built ran very well. They know what they are doing, and can get experimental at times, but I've never known them to release anything that was bad.
Interesting to see their work getting way down there.

Thanks man.
It didn't occur to me to do a google search on PR Racing.
http://prracingengines.com/
I sent an email to get a little info on it.
I saw a bike recently that had a turbo crank, they probably did it.
Looks like they built some winning bikes.

I spoke to Lou who did the work back in the day.
He said the engine porting and head cut were done to direct the charge.
The head was milled to get the compression ratio back.
He also said the coating inside the port passages was applied and baked on.
Said they also did tranny gears, makes everything slick.
I'm gonna send it to him monday to fit a new piston, probably send him my 480 for the same thing.
I'll let you know how it runs when I get it back together.
The absolute last thing I need is a hotrod 500 like the 92.
If I lived close to some dunes a wild bike might be fun.
A buddy of mine has an 85 cylinder/head on stock bore I can get if I can't ride this thing.

Lou is a heck of a guy. Kind of like Glen from GSS, except he actually knows what he is talking about.
I have had them do a crank and some cylinder milling, and I was very happy with their work. They have been around a long time, anyone in the local racing circuit knows PR builds wicked shit.
