Took the kids up to the backyard lake this weekend and the fishing wasn't going so well, my girls grabbed a few sticks and asked if I could help lean them up into a teepee...well one thing led to another and we ended up with this. I play like a kid all the time but I can't remember the last time I built a fort. I must say it was pretty fun...followed up by a nice swim.

And the girls will remember this TeePee, far after a stinky ol' fish is long forgot about.

Man we had a blast and I really wanted to light it, but it's not cool at that location.....maybe Labor Day at the desert lake.

I know I am lucky, and for so many things...the main ones being the 2 girls in the picture and the woman who is raising them with me.
The lake is not mine, but we can get there on a little dirt road right from my house, or take the hwy its about 20min either way. We attempt to fish it, I am not a great fisherman, we camp there, we swim there, we run the boat there and wakeboard and stuff too. This one is the closest to the house so it's kind of our daily grind. In the winter we drive my big green truck out there, the only other people out there are snowmobilers and they are pretty few and far between....so we kind of feel like it's ours. We clean up other people's trash and really love "our" lake.

It was my thought too Iggy....no need to be sorry.
We only worked on it for about an hour, if you look at the photos its still pretty early in the morning. It's not a very busy lake so things don't get scavenged the way they do in crowded areas. We also followed a pack of deer for like a mile and were able to sneak up pretty close, especially for trying to be quiet with an 8 and 6 year old we got about 30' away before getting caught.
Like my title said its fun to play like a kid. I do kids stuff all the time but building forts, chasing deer, digging up crystals, sledding, building bicycle jumps etc. are things I have not done since I was a little kid.

Need to put a strip of rubber on the front wheel for some traction in the turns.

I'm down, only about a 3 hour drive. I will deck it out in old CR plastic and banned cr graphics, no need for traction, I'm going to use some of SF's finest limp wristers as my big wheels berms .....oh yeah!!!!
