Anyone have any experience with an 84 RM500? Seen one on CL and it looks pretty good but I remember the LT500 quad motors were not built very well, so I'm thinking this may be the same.

There are enough hardcore Suzuki enthusiasts in the vintage motocross world that you can find out what needs to fixed / paid attention to. There is one guy here in Southern California called Ed Tashian who races a whole stable of early 80's 125 / 250 /465s and they are prepped perfectly and run the same.

Yeah, Suzukis have a dedicated following just like others I suppose.
There are a ton of Suzuki guys in Ohio.

Not a Suzuki forum but, it's basically an Ohio MX forum.
I know at least 2 guys who race that bike in my area.

always thought they were cool. 4spd trans would suck though depending on ratios.

Not really because the 500 has power all over.
I thought a 4 speed would suck until I got my 480.
I kinda like it.

wasnt sure if there was big gaps or not. doesnt matter in dirt but sand will tell the story real fast. some of mine are 4spd and work tits because the ratios are good, well except for 1st  . actually they have 5 gears but 1st is useless its so low

Guess it would be another wall hanger - a bike that I wouldn't ride but keep it in my house hanging on the wall... if I had the room.
