Man I sucked at the motor I.D. wasn't great with the cars either. 71% on cars, substantially lower on the motors.

I sucked bad and gave up on both, would have probably ended up at 20% ish and that was just guessing luck.....

I didn't do as good as I thought I would on the 1st test... (especially on the MOPARS)

92 % dumb luck , i dont even like 50s cars , but too many years in the bodyshop, one of my painters just got a chrysler with a 331 hemi for $850. runs ,,,gonna be a rat rod motor. personally i'm glad i'm building a 69 roadrunner, pro touring 528 crate hemi,,, cr 500 of car motors

cut the oil filter open on that hemi
For an engine thats supposedly been run we see all kinds of crap.
Had to change the pan on the last one to fit it into a '74 charger, pan was full of machining debris and bearing material. we polished the crank and put bearings in it. A local guy bought one 4 years ago or so, didnt even have a timing set in the engine
Had a dude who brought a 502 bbc to use as a dual blower setup, we needed to change the pistons, was missing a rod nut and had oil rings that were for a smaller bore.
We consider those "crate engines" to be a good core to start from.
