OK, Bob knows.
I figured that but, cool enough he didn't name it for everybody else.
Anybody else?

#924 was actually an A-12 (SR-71 prototype) and was the very first one.

Well i am glad to see that I am not the only one with a guess of X-35 for Bob's pic. Although 100hp's answer made me laugh.

Until you see Bob demonstrate the flexability of that plane you'll never believe it.

They are called Exhaust Covers. Its standard procedure to install inlet and exhaust covers on aircraft while bedding them down. The picture with Jack was in the back of a J58 taken at Edwards AFB "old engine shop."

To work on YF-12's / A-12's / or SR-71's you could not use ANY tool that was either chrome or cadium plated.

The microscopic plating that would transfer during use would interact with the titanium and cause all sorts of issues.

Any titanium part contaminated with the chrome or cadium will eventually result in titanium "embrittlement." Under pressure and/or heat, it flowed (infused) between the grains of titanium. This weakens the grain boundaries and when the titanium is stressed, a crack will initiate.

Only stainless, or super-cheapo-o plain steel ( aka Brit's toolbox) type tools were acceptable.

These tools are from toolbox #35, out of DET1 ( Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan)

I've never even seen one of those boogers.
I spent all my time at Eglin with the 33rd.
Occasionally would see various planes at the weapons test squadron or the McKinley Climactic Laboratory, but no SR71.
I was told stories about it and the F111 which was at the test squadron.
My focus while there was the F4 and later the F15.
I felt really old when they replaced the F15 with the F22.
I love the Skunk Works.
The story of Kelly Johnson is a good read.
Funny thing, I sometimes see big rigs with that logo?
What's the connection?
