Not a good weekend for Gulfstream...

G-650 flight test aircraft crashed in NM killing two test pilots and two engineers. Total bummer for eveyone at Gulfstream :cry:

It just goes to to show you that you need to live lid to the fullest because it can be over in a blink of an eye.

I'd be willing to bet they were doing Vmu (minimum unstick) tests and rolled/dragged a wing. Reports say they got airborne briefly and then hit the ground hard collapsing the gear.

Back in the 80's they drug a wing on a G-4 doing those tests, but with much less tragic results. The 650 wing is very highly swept and will likely be much less forgiving in marginal circumstances. Very sad, but fatal flight testing accidents do happen, even back in the G-2 days.
