Looks good to me. the gears arent worn to points. just make sure your shift forks are good and the gear dogs arent rounded and you shouldnt have any problems.

its very difficult to kill one of those trannys. yours looks great. i cant see all the dogs but the ones i can see look fine. if they are starting to get rounded, you have the option of buying new gears or you could have the old ones back cut. back cutting is a far better option IMO, honda should have designed them that way in the first place but they didnt. shift forks can be checked by looking in the service manual, theres a measurement spec for what the pads should measure. you can also check the OD of the shafts and ID of the gears. also take a look at the bushings.

Yeah the dogs look pretty good from what I can see.
If it starts to jump out of gear the dogs are worn.

Thanks, the dogs look good... The shift forks look good, but i'll check the manual to be sure.
I picked up the transmission, gearshift assembly, kickstart assembly for $200. It's was listed as a 93 model, if it is or not i'm not sure, anyway not too fussed on that
I decided too build a second engine from scratch
i've worked it out at it'll cost me about $3000 all up, brand new cases, crank, cylinder, bearings etc... Considering it will cost me around $2000 for an unknown engine, then $500 to ship it to australia, and just my luck cost me another $1500+ for rebuild if it's rooted

C5 20t
M4 24t
M5 23t
wide ratio
C4 21t
C5 19t
M4 22t

just the tranmission, thats just the shafts and gears. $910.66 from the US. If i purchased them from AUS it would be minimum $1500-$1800. Walk into the shop, bend over and grab your ankles

Thanks for the offer, i cant afford a complete engine just yet. I love my beer and smokes too much. I'll just gradually save up for one bit by bit. I'm not in a rush for an engine as i've got a complete 01 engine anyway. This will just be a second engine

Not that one, i did look at that one. Looked abit rough, i've already purchased mine. I got all the same stuff less bolts. $200 plus $45 shipping...
The $900 i was referring too was how much it would cost for new transmission, shifting components and kickstart assembly would be a further $690 new
Even though mines second hand i'm infront $1355 then if i were to by it new.

yeah i'm pretty happy, just been patient and waitng. I tell you though when searching ebay i was actually surprised at just how many used parts there and the seller is asking more than price of new parts..
Someone was trying to flog off a stuffed inner clutch hub for over $150 trying to say they are discontinued. they are only $50-60 brand new
