I just bend the tab a little to make the flag stick out sideways a little more then it never gets sucked in by the tire or dragged under the fender.

Can someone set aside a spot for the Graves family? My rig takes up quite a bit of space, turns out the trailer is a 29' not including the tongue. When I get there (thursday night) I plan on mobbing up the beach into camp so I don't get stuck, would suck to have a repeat of the MFDB rig when we made it out last time.

does anyone have the directions? I remember it got complicated last time since there are multiple gates to enter through. I also remember being able to fill up on fresh water somewhere near by, does anyone remember where?

They don't enforce it for bikes at sand mountain (or at least the last time I was there) so I have never run one. If I am goofing around on the face hill the 500 pretty much holds the place hostage and in typical fashion nobody ever ventures more than 50' from their truck so in the back of the place it never freaked me out.

doesn't that thing just get in the way, do you break it every time you get on the bike? I have seen it mounted to the axle and also to the fender....whats the preference?

15 S to the 210 W to 101 N get off on grand st in Gorver beach
go past hwy 1 & head onto the beach...... or you can make a left at the light hwy 1 & go 1 mile to the next light & make a right and get on the beach there

or if you want to get water turn right at hwy 1 off grand st and then I think its the next left into a trailer park looking area & look for the RV dump on the left hand side of the street.

I'll make some if dudes want em, just get me dimensions on how the flag needs to mount, blocks i have specs for.
Because the flag needs to be 8' off the ground per CA code. Course at WOT its below your head.

Iggy, that makes no sense, if you use a mount that goes on the axle nut (how i understand that one picuted a page ago fits) then its the same height as the adjuster block right

Fuck ya Roosty!!!

I get the first one.....

1. Make adjuster block extra long to hang out the back of the swingarm

2. Drill vertical hole to slip flag in.

3. Drill and tap hole at a right angle for set screw to hold flag in place.

4. Make holder for allen wrench for " in dune" use.

... your welcome.

what he is saying is at WFO the wind blows the flag back so far behind you that its below your head in height when its mounted per CA code 8' off the ground.

your Idea is great its just does not meet CA code, if the cops wish to enforce the code your going to get a ticket.

although Ive never heard of that happening

o-yeah there is 2 sizes of flag poles 1/4" & 5/16 is what I think they are
I only have 5/16 flags as the 1/4 ones do not hold up well

I have something simular, Aluminum block that replaces the adjuster, I have 2 holes drilled so I could use either size and set screws in the back to lock it in.
I like Bob's crude one, makes mine look like it was made from a stick
But it works

Either way all that matters is the Flag be 8' off the ground while not moving. Hell they even have dimensions and color of the flag called out in the code.

Then there comes personal choice. I like the idea of just pushing a spring loaded button to remove the flag. No tools requried. Although it looks filmmzy mounted in the center of the fender a few inches back of the seat.

Make sure you take it off for moto, wouldn't want to drag your privies across it sliding off the back.
