How much capacity does a remolded stock tank have?

How much capacity does a properly remolded stock tank have?
I remolded the tank on my 03 last night to clear the plug. I may have gotten a little happy with the heat gun. I managed to get about two inches of clearance above a shorty plug when it was all said and done. I measured the tank capacity with the bike sitting on the stand. Only measuring what would come out of the petcock with out shaking or rocking the bike, I got about 1.2 gal. I am an off road rider, and this isn't going to get me very far. I may have to get another tank and give this another go around.
