Roosty will likely be getting on of my GSS worked cylinders for a makeover this spring, as well as a set of crankcases for the porting he does there.

Thats him. I'm not sure if he's actually reworked any GSS stuff, but he definately knows what he's doing inside a motor.

I wouldnt trust Glen to change the the sparkplug in my $49 weed wacker.
There was a time that I would, but that time is long gone.

Its not that Glen is a fuck up, were all human, and we all fuck up from time to time.... BUT, its how you handle the F/U. This was all delivered to me, on the same motor.

Offset bore job

Willy Nilly hole placement on holes I specifically told him NOT TO DRILL

Offset boost port in piston

Offset port timing

"Anti-Gravity" piston to cylinder wall clearence
Yea, Glen replaced everything, but did he take responsibility? Hell no. He called me out as being too picky, ungrateful, and that I didnt know shit about what good machinework looks like.
His "Full Race" , "Half Race", and "Trail Port" all look identical and are WAY OVER PRICED. He's a one trick pony, who should be put out to pasture.

Yeah I talked to roosty, I'm going with him, going to send him my jug and cases to port, re sleeve. I can split the case I think, but I would have no idea what to do after that. Plus it would cost me an arm and leg to ship it. Any Ideas?
Only reason Im doing this is because my ass hole buddy has a factory built kx500 race bike that I need to beat! He pulls on me all day long, and on top of that I hate Kawi!

Danny Graves is a Vegas Hoon, contact him....
He's a proven CR500 engine assembler.
You might want to hire him to disassemble it too, so nothing gets damaged...

yea no shit.. well my gss motor runs like a raped ape.. I will be sure to post pics on teardown to see what i got.
I really cant understand that port being off like that.. especially with the stock flashing in there... doesn't look like the ports were modified by glen? or were they? is it possible honda fucked it up from the factory? if so me thinks glen should have caught it...
I too have the holes drilled in my piston "willy Nilly" I just figured it really didnt matter too much.. and i still dont think it does. Now for the sake of presentation and the thouroughness of doing a good job I would have had em straight as an arrow, and i see Bobs point there...
Off center bore... man that looks like a fuck up to me.
its too bad Glen is a cool old dude and I wish him the best.
I do believe he built a gem in my motor though.. it is just a hard runnin reliable SOB... guess i lucked out..

He was a dick to me, I hope he's eating a steady stream of Alpo right now.
I just sent this out tonight....

Dear Alpo,
As you know, with the current state of the economy and the declining American dollar, many people on fixed incomes face hard choices about how best to spend their retirement checks. Sadly, an increasing number end up eating Alpo, a product not intended for human consumption. I would like you to address this issue.
Won't you please do the responsible thing and come out with "Alpo for Senior Citizens?" With a properly blended formula it should not be difficult to achieve a nutritionally balanced diet for the elderly.
No more would they be forced to eat food meant for dogs. Instead, with pride, they could buy an affordable can of food meeting the best needs of elder care. After all, why should our pets fare better than our elders?
I hope you will consider this modest proposal.
Thanks,
Aliso Bob

KX 500 has superior engine design in every way and inferior manufacturing / casting.
The clutch cover is a failure as well do to the fact the waterpump must be removed to access the clutch and the whole side cover must be replaced if the brake pedal pokes a hole in it.... and they always do eventually.
The rest of the bike feels wormn out quickly compared to the Honda.
A Honda with KX500 cylinder on it would be the shiznit
