LED Tail Light Upgrade

Post by AlisoBob »

The stock running light it pretty weak....

Image

Its just a little 3 watt bulb.

The dual sport kit gives you both a led running light and brake light back by the license plate, but both are hard to see in the daytime.... So I got this....

Its a combo tail / brake light thats pretty friggin' BRIGHT!!!

The camera doesnt capture the intensity, but its really visable, even in direct sun.

I left the dual sport brake light hooked up too for redundancy.....

Get it here:

$23 is a great deal, cheaper than being rear ended!!!!

When I built my 650R, I actually managed to fit an 1157 style led bulb flat under the stock lens in the fender. That way I had tail/brake light all from the stock lens and used a four strokes only licence plate bracket. It keeps the plate high and far back so the tire doesn't rip it off. I cracked a few plates just from vibes, but other than that, it worked mint.

That works fine for a super moto, but with all the bouncing and banging going on back there in the dirt, I went with LED's....

It works mint, shimmed it with some rubber/foam, and it fits snug under the lens.
