We've been using banjo super clamps-
Mine has two years on it and has budged, never tightened it once.
Just grind off the old bracket and put the clamp on there and bolt a grommet holder on the end.

nmdesertrider,
Do you have a pic of the grommet holder? Looks like you can use a coupling nut on the banjo clamp.

I have a Pro Circuit "Service Honda" pipe. The mid-pipe bracket needed for the CRF-X frame broke off the pipe some months ago so I guess now it's a normal pipe...

Part #3- but I put the small end on the clamp and have the big part bolted to the subframe (with the rubber of course)- it's different depending on what version frame you have.

Speaking of pipe mounts. What does everyone think about welding a pipe mount on the front ignition side of downtube for additional support where they seem to crack the headpipe?

Hmm that might be a good Idea, I just so happen to have an extra rubber mount lying around, yet I have only cracked the shield of my stock pipe in that location.

Don't you think if it was a "good" idea honda would have done it.
I have a new ( 1 hour, no dents) SH PC pipe with a carbon fibre eline guard for sale if you need one.
I'm not sure if the bends of the pipe are different but the brackets are mounted in very different locations between the SH pipe and a steely pipe.

gonna try a gnarly this time round, unless that pc is dirt cheap
what do you want for it, is the pipe plated? dont really want the guard

get a gnarly, you will like it in the woods much better. A bit less rev but much better other than that

If everything Honda did was perfect, the factory bikes would be stock. If you have the money to replace pipes regularly, I guess you do not need it. Honda did not make a 500 AF, if they did maybe it would have an extra pipe mount.

pipes crack from vibes. I'd be looking at getting your lower end smooth or your method of sealing your manifold. This is assuming your motor mounts are tight.
