I got the chance to try out a set of The Stubby tire changing tools. They are plastic and help so you don't scratch rims.
Also, I tested how they feel inserted.(If you don't know what Im talking about, then you are missing out)

Did you have to use any special lube or did you test the insertion dry?

Good question. I would have preferred some lube but there were no directions that called for it, and I felt a proper product test should be by the book.

Hi charkie, all joking aside, I’ve got a 35 year old aluminum version of that little tool and I have never pinched a tube since I got it, I use it just like the stubby web site suggests and tap on the last bit of really tight bead with a hammer.

I got mine from a friend who bought it back in the 70’s, it was called a tire “Breezer” back then, so apart from now being made of plastic it has the exact same profile as the 35 year old one in my tool box.

So those guys might be on shaky ground with their patent pending, unless they are the same company that made the old ones.
