50 plus group?

Post by Tharrell »

Here's a question for all you guys in the 50 plus group.
I know I'm an old fart so I expect to catch it for that.
I'm having a problem refocusing after hitting stutter bumps or a group of fast whoops.
For instance, running across fast stutter bumps my eyesight bounces around so much I can't focus on anything.
I also have a problem in the woods with light and shade, refocusing after going from one to the other.
I am a diabetic so I don't know if that's why or not.
I can remember hitting stuff years ago and never having a problem seeing.
Anybody else having this problem?

Nope, you're normal.
Everything seems to happen faster...
And I don't bounce as well either...

Ha Ha Ha!
Yeah, seems like I got a T shirt with that faster thing on it.
But seriously sort of, it is a fuckin problem.
I've had my eyes checked and I need reading glasses but that's it.
There's some evidence of diabetes but not bad, one of my eyes actually improved according to the last eye test.
Sux getting older.
I'm gonna try some shaded goggles for the light transition thing and see if that helps.

I wonder if SCOTTS makes a head bobble dampner...

I'm not in the 50 plus group yet, but I know what you're talking about. Loosen your death grip and relax as best you can. Try to grip the bike with your knees more than your hands so the bumps don't translate so directly to your head. But yeah, it happens.

Yellow lenses seem to help the light transitions a little for me. I still don't use them though, I just go slower.

The worst for me is going from one of my modern bikes and getting on a vintage bike.
That's what I love about the modern bikes, they just handle soooo good.

Try using the photosensitive lens from pro-grip. They work great for going from bright into woods. They are very similar to the transitions lenses for glasses but seem to work very fast and almost unnoticeable
