I broke mine with the tech 8 and I thought that the rigid pivoting ankle brace on the sg12 should be way superior. They do stiffen up the all area and only lets you pivot back and forth.
Of course shit happens and we can always find a way to mess us up.

I really like my Tech 10's. They have protected me in what would have surely been a broken ankle in cheaper boots. Buying a pair of these twice a year would be cheaper than a trip to the hospital for a broken ankle.....ive got 2 years on my boots so far, and they are still in excellent shape.
