Gen 3 125 Airboot?

Post by cmotodad »

What is the best airboot to use on a gen 3 125? I thought I read a gen3 250 boot is bigger and flows more air, if true, has anyone done it and do they fit properly? Thanks, Bob

i've heard that, havent checked. i have a boot upstairs and one on my other bike. i'd better see what numbers these have.
i think i heard that the newer boot was bigger, not just 125 to 250 chassis

its not bigger, it just has a smoother transition to the carb. the older ones had a right angle dead end. I recently changed my 125 and 500 to the 07 CR125 boots (both are the same chassis). also added 1" unifilter airbox vents. one on the left is the 07 boot in all pics (rt one is the 03).
got big gains on the 500, had to go up 2 pilot sizes to stop surging. the 125 airbox is very restricted. 07 boots are $21.00 at Service honda.

dunno about the 250. the guy who ported my 125 told me the vents and boot alone are worth 1hp on a stock 125 and 2-3hp on a modded 125 depending on the extent of the mods. I could def feel the dif on my 125 and 500.

gotta admit I've been on the 125 for the last 6 or 7 sundays. dusting the 500 off for this weekend though.
