Sam was origianlly a preacher and started his comedy in Houston. But, unfortunately, I never knew who he was until I saw that first routine on TV and by that time, he was out in Cali. I really miss him and his humor. Per his brother, Sam had just cleaned up his life and had kicked the drug, as well as, alcohol abuse just before he died in the car crash. God speed, Sam.
