04 CRF250R conversion. Removed the 500 engine last night. Cut off the engine mounts and cut the Y out and sat the engine in the frame. I don't think the motor can be rotated forward much, the clutch housing is sitting on the frame and the front of the water pump is only about a .25 of an ich away from the frame tube.

I'm confused? I removed the lower mounts becuased they had to be moved. Was I suppose to leave the side pieces? The new mounts will go over the side of the tubing like the old ones.

Had to work today and tomorrow( more money for parts). But got the y cleaned out and fitted to the down tube. Put the rads on every thing fits good so far. Ground some of the weld on the clutch side to let the engine go down in the front just a little. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Thanks for the input, this is the first conversion for me.

I have a set. Shipped super quick, arrived pollished with great welds, and have held up to a year of abuse that did crack my frame. I do run the Devol radiator guards to protect them though. The fabricator of the conversion did not make mention of extra troubles.

Sorry I should have said. I have the right tubing just using that square stuff to mock it up and get it right before I use the good stuff. I actually want to get the cuts a lot better before I use the right tubing.
I have to get the inserts made also. Other than the tubing does it look like its right. The motor is sitting almost level and there is room for the crosshose between the radiators.

Thanks

I looked over the sticky and moved the 59mm to the right side and turned a spacer for the left side 5mm to go with the 49mm while I'm waiting on the 54mm to show up I ordered. Got to looking at it today and it looks like it needs to move to the right 2 or 3mm? Here's a pic and some other random pic's. I put the Fatty on tonight just to get an idea if it would work, it is hard up against the intake on the cylinder If I'm going to use it I will have to adjust it with a BFH. Some pic's of the mounts I milled for the frontImage
