unless its tweaked.. the guy said he wasnt sure if it was or not... the inlet wont clear the frame rail by about an inch.... im thinking it got tweaked during his hillclimbing comp.....britincali wrote:The pipe will fit your bike your just not trying hard enough.
My 2000 has a pipe from a 1990
My 97 AF has a pipe from a 2000
The only pipes that wont work are the hi style pipes from the 85-88s.
ok well i may try again... im thinking it hits the head and frame rail long before it gets to the airbox but ill try again...100hp honda wrote:should fit. might have to take airbox, maybe. had trouble with mine cuz it was tight and kept hitting airbox. fit good once i got it on.
lol well if thats the case ill just run the dented FATTY.. it slides in place PERFECT....2strokeforever wrote:i have to use a big rubber hammer to get my pipe on and off, its bent tho
i take the manifold off, put the pipe on the manifold, then bolt it up
but its a wrestling match every time, hits the frame rail, cylinder Y and radiator, usualy takes me 20-30 minutes,
swearing is mandatory its the only way itl go on
hope this helps
oh and i wish i could get that close to the manifold.. it doesnt make it past the frame rail let alone get onto the manifold..2strokeforever wrote:i have to use a big rubber hammer to get my pipe on and off, its bent tho

then again my pipe is mangled
hope this helps
same as mine it wont get past the ignition side frame rail, so i use the big rubber hammer a 2x4 and lots of cursing and wriggle it onoh and i wish i could get that close to the manifold.. it doesnt make it past the frame rail let alone get onto the manifold
hmm mine hits the clutch side frame rail by about an inch....2strokeforever wrote:same as mine it wont get past the ignition side frame rail, so i use the big rubber hammer a 2x4 and lots of cursing and wriggle it onoh and i wish i could get that close to the manifold.. it doesnt make it past the frame rail let alone get onto the manifold

you don't necessarily need heat. That reinforcement on the Gnarly is nearly pointless, since all of them crack anyhow. Give it a go with a longer rod!qkenuf4u wrote: hey
thanks.. i seen that the other night... without heat theres no way im gonna be able to bend this pipe... its double walled/reinforced right where it needs bent
