Yeah, I can think of a couple.

Maybe your daughter wasn't looking past the end of her own front fender.

Maybe the driver of the other vehicle was out of control and driving over his head

Maybe the driver of the other vehicle shouldn't have been going the opposite direction down the trail.

Theres a bunch of possibilities. In any case, it was an unfortuneate event. Just be glad your daughter is alive and well and get over it. Shit happens.
