well, the whole idea behind buying a brand new diesel was for it to be the last truck I buy. I'd get it brand new, take care of it, fix it when needed and drive it until the frame rusts apart.

ya... I had the f-150 for 4 1/2 years... looks like I will have it for a while longer. I dicked myself on that one though, I bought it used in december '05 and it was a '04 with a sticker of 23k, but I rolled over my ranger which was a lease that I went way over on miles with, and I let the dealer brit me (I bought the alarm, warranty, gap, everything) so I ended up financing 31k at 15%, then refinanced it 8 months later into a 84mo at 6%
so I still have 3 years and a couple months

well... I went to take it back and the dude was like "do you like the truck" and I was like "fuck yeah i do" so he said to just come in and we'll talk. They already had a new deal for me that put everything where I needed it. They took 3000 off the truck and gave me 500 more for the f-150 and got me 4.9% through ford credit which then gave me $1000 off. I guess they have some kickass sales record (they have trophies and shit everywhere), so the sales manager didn't want to tarnish it, so she took a major hit to keep my truck from coming back. The sales dude said he had no idea how she did it, but she did.

Tomorrow I'm going to line-x

No records involved, no sales guy involved.

Sales manager din't want a 40+k new unwind sitting on his lot that he will have to take a 7 k loss to sell, so he took a smaller loss selling it to you

When something new unwinds its now considered used and is a fukin PITA to have sitting on the lot staring at you everyday.

Nice truck Danny, I've had Ford diesels since 93 and have always had good luck with them. Bummed I sold my last one but the F-150 is sure easier to park....

this DPF BS has got to go! Last night about 10 feet from my house the truck starts sounding and running like crap again and I see the display "cleaning exhaust filter" come up. Well, I'm home, so I shut it down. This morning driving in to work, the stupid fucken thing tries to run through its regen while cold, then while I'm sitting at a red light a very rude message pops up telling me that I need to drive faster to clean the DPF, well, I'm at a fucking red light! I get on the freeway and my ehaust is so plugged up that I can't build any boost, when I finally get to cruising speed the message drop off and the "cleaning exhaust filter" message comes back, and it runs its regen for 25 miles!!! I actually saw the fuel gauge drop in this 20 minutes. seriously, on the 95 from ann rd to russell.
There isn't anything wrong with the truck and I love the truck, but this damn EPA regulation soot contorl BS is going to raise my blood pressure. I may just put the dpf bypass pipe and tuner on the discover card.

so, last weekend, I installed my H&S tuner, AFE 4" downpipe-back SS exhaust and mt AFE stage2SI intake... all I have to say is HOLY FUCK< DUDE!
the truck is insane now, I'm glad I got the tuner that allows shift on the fly, the +250 tune gets a little crazy for everyday driving, but if I see some doosh, I can blow soot all inside his car   , I'm such a dick. My mileage is way better, the EGTs went down a whole lot removing the dpf and the truck will do 4High burnouts shifting into 3rd
this is the tuner, I got the minimaxx
