ooooohhhhh!!! 440, is that what he got???
I wouldn't mind getting one of those 440s and transplanting the motor to newer ktm chassis... would make a SICK bike

i dont know man, sounds like the '95 440 is fawkin awesome right out of the box. tits motor, awesome suspension, good chassis. only negative i seen was the tranny doesnt shift as smooth as the honda, but then again i dont think any bike will ever shift smooth as a honda.

finding a 440 or 550 in the US is fairly easy. finding one that hasnt been abused for the last 15 years is another story.

last weekend i picked this one up from the original owner. i didnt really want another bike plugging up my garage but the price was decent ($950  ). i was suprised he actually kept it in pretty good shape. just have to figure out how to patch the hole in the seat fabric so it doesnt rip.

it has a fmf fatty with hardly a scratch, and it has pwk carb....come to find out the '95 440 models came from the factory with 38 pwk. also i got a genuine ktm service manual with it.

I'd pick one up just so the little cuz could ride the 600 class at the hillclimb, contract limits him to KTM.
Other than that, this is the first summer that theres only 1 ktm in the garage (his practice bike, a 09 450), the 520 got sold to my friend "woodshed's" lil bro "nicklet", the 3 sxf250's and 1 used 08 450 are gone. Full factory ride means he dont need to own em all and they haul his shit arround for him.
On the weekend he bust the hub from the inside of the clutch basket, stuck a basket finger into the trans and piled it up, engine is on UPS to cali right now

They are a nice looking bike, no doubt about it.
They should haul ass to.
It really doesn't matter what bike you are on as long as it goes, HARD!
Plus reliable, cheap and easy to maintain as well.
Bummer about his clutch stuff up. :(

from the pics, this one looks fairly decent but a photo hardly tells the whole story. he's willing to trade it for a 250 4poke, i would trade him in a heartbeat if i had a crf 250. his cash asking price of $2,500 is a bit steep, it "might" be worth $1,500-$2,000, but its hard to say with out seeing it in person. damn i wish i had a 4choke to trade
