6 pages of shit for a 15 tooth countershaft sprocket topic!

How'd that happen??
I see I should have left rider ability out of my argument...I was loosing focus on the topic. M.F.D.B. not that you and I will ever ride together, but if we did meet up at Dumont I wouldn't be too upset with a loss. I'll gladly laugh at myself and say you told me so. Drag racing isn't my cup of tea so I shouldn't pretend like I know what I'm talking about when it comes to such. I do enjoy sand drags and I haven't often been beat...but it's been maybe two or three years since my last ride

I don't get to enjoy the Dunes much anymore.

Bunch-o-haters here...
Fact is I have proved my point about the durability of a well taken care of yet ridden hard thumper (im talking about what you "old timers" remember all the way back from the "other site" when I first got this YZ and Bobber and I still hated eachother). If the dam thing would just blow the "F" up already so I can make me a YZ500AF all of us would be happy...

i dont like coffee much. but as i was saying, typically cc for cc 2stroke makes quit a bit more power than 4stroke...this isnt secret info hiden in some vault, its info thats readily available even to non believers like you- make a few phone calls and click a few links and see for yourself. ill make it down that way soon as money allows....bring your goggles for the sand blasting and gask mask for the meth fumes youll be FOLLOWING

actually cc to cc in a N/A application a 2 stroke will always build more power. the problem is the 2 strokes power characteristics, especially a 500. look at a cr250, a nice fast bike that could smoke the crap out of any 4 stroke 250 because the cr250 was built as a hot mamba jomba from the factory with extra exhaust ports, huge ports, power valve, ignition like crazy, huge reed cage, etc. etc. the cr500 has always been detuned like hell because if one were built to 250 specs it would be unrideable. but a cr250 can compete directly with a crf450 and does even though its barely more than half the displacement and has way less favorable tractability.

They're still doing it in the Canadian series.

I saw something in the x-games last year where they were competing 2 strokes and 4 strokes.
a lot of the FMX guys still run 250s since they are lighter and don't stall mid air

This thread turned lame... I tried breaking it up by calling Justin a turd. I was interested in what the results were from changing sprokets. So I'll just say it can we get back to the fucking topic! And Yes a 15 tooth sproket will fucking work!!!!!!

I race/run 14/49 on my bike, haven't been beat by a 450 to the first turn yet. I am not the fastest guy out there but in the B class, not the A a 500 is hard to beat. Inside lines on everything and you can seat bounce 80' jumps real easy. Most guys on the 450's don't do that. The only time I wish I had a 450 is on the 5th lap when it's hard to hold on. I ride with a lot of 450's and have riden my share of them too. Rider ability has everything to do with this... you're dealing with lots of power from either bike. I would say I am faster on a track overall on the 450 but that is due to the fact I can corner so much faster on one. I am going to make one of these trips to the sand and see what all the fuss is about. I get off the line good, love the woops and use all the bike has to offer so ....... and don't weigh 300lbs. Sorry Bob and Jay! M.F.D.B I believe Hagendog and Stoffers are going to have to come play with you. My bike is stock btw...
