not really... the tolerances are run a lot tighter in 250s and 125, especially since they've all been plated al sleeves since like 1989, but even in an iron sleeve they don't have to run nearly as much piston to cylinder wall clearance since there is so much less aluminum to expand. the RPMs aren't what kills pistons, with 500s its the rocking from tollerances and seizing due to rapid expansion.
so, a cr125 piston takes the least abuse of all... with proper lubrication and tolerances a motor should be able to turn hige rpm all the time without any piston issues...the bore and rings with wear faster, but we are only discussing pistons here.
