Your thinking is a little flawed my man. The cooler air leans you out. More oxygen per lb. Like oil, fuel (ar least right now) is cheaper then aluminum and steel. I have a good set of jets I bring everywhere. Ill let you use my 200 if you need it. But I charge 3 times the amount as a delivery fee if you dont reserve in advance...Ported&Polished wrote:Well the beach is alot cooler than here, and the air is real wet, so I can't see needing a 185 in a stock motor. I run a 182 in hot dry glamis and never needed a 185 even with the ported bike. Here I run a 165 at 5000 feet and 90 degree temps. I will take all the jets, but a 170 or 172 or 175 is gonna be the ticket from my experience. There is nothing worse than poor jetting at wot in the dunes, I want crisp responsive throttle reaction.

You should have seen the look on the guys face at the bike shop when I asked if they had a 200...haha he was like "shit. WTF?? I dont think we got any that big"...For the hot 2300ft. air we ride in here in Vegas a 200 is a bit much im usually in the high 180-190 range but in the cool, dry, winter dunes at 800ft. The 200 works titties...no sputter, just a little spooge, and no over heat!! The main reason I run it!!lewisclan wrote:I have a 205 in 1 of my hillclimbers at 3200 ft and may have to drop in the 210 at pismo
I got I think 1 maaybe 2 other bikes at 200 mains.

I'm brinking tons of mikuni and keihin jets for anyone who needs
but yeah,
cooler temps = need richer jetting
lower elevation = need richer jetting
high load from sand = need richer jetting
I think I am seeing a pattern

ya, I have a pile of keihin and mikuni needles for just that reason. I got lucky, I fouled a plug in 30 seconds running a kx500 needle... way better than blowing up a motor...

Run whatever you want man, I will never need a 200 main. I am certain Iggy is right on the money. A 170, 172, or 175 will be perfect for Pismo.M.F.D.B. wrote:You should have seen the look on the guys face at the bike shop when I asked if they had a 200...haha he was like "shit. WTF??
