I have a question though.
How do you all get to the beach from the 101? Do you take Grand Ave. to the 1 and then back down to Pier Ave. or some other way?
That will work. But you can turn left at hwy 1 go to the first light (Lakeside ave.) and turn right. It will save you about a mile from being on the beach.

You just confused me Iggy. Lakeside Ave. from what I see doesn't hit Hwy 1. Do you mean Pier Ave.?
What I was trying to ask was how is the best way to get to Hwy 1 from the 101? I am getting on the 101 from the 166.
Oops my bad. Pier ave.
From the 101 exit E. Grand ave. Turn left @ hwy 1. turn right @ Pier ave.
Also from I-5 to the 101 is 100 miles on the 166 with one town inbetween, make sure you have enough gas. There no tell what the price is in Cuyama.
Firewood?

I have three big logs, one for each night, 1x6 cedar fence, some plywood from the trailer and the neighbors tree from Febuary is already dry. I'll bring all that I can.

Has anyone looked up the tide charts yet, for making a uneventful drive down the beach?

Still waiting on calls from possible ride shares, but will come anyway - probably up Thursday very early and then leave on Friday afternoon. Will bring firewood left over from camping trip. Have flag, but need tips on an appropriate mount for bike. Expect local dealer can rustle up 10 paddle tire in time available. Got plenty of jets for the PWK assuming jetting advice is available from the elder statesmen. Anything else I should know being a "first timer"?

You "can" use an axle mount for your flag but they suck, so run a zip tie on your fender cuz if you dont your paddle will EAT you flag. If you have a steelie I would just drill a hole in the middle and put a flag there. The fender is plenty strong enough for a regular size flag. If you have an AF the same thing will "possibly" work but I havnt tried it as I dont have an AF.
DONT get a "plain" paddle, make sure you get some sort of "ribbed" or you will hate the handling. I use one of these "Intimidators" and I LOVE IT!!

Turbos are ok, but nothing I have riddin holds the side of a hill like the Intimidator...
I forgot to mention, to can ride on the STREET with an intimidator ( around the nighbor hood type stuff) It rolls as smooth as a slick!! No B/S!!
Makes loading and unloading super easy, no thud thud thud thud...

Everyone has a favorite paddle tire, doesn't really matter much to me. I am gonna bring a spare axle flag mount for someone if they wanna use it. I just took my af for a spin, it's ripping right now for a stock engine, love it. I could care less who is faster, we are gonna have a blast!

Anything over a 12 blade will get rid of the bouncing too

I run 10s on the more stock bikes and love the ribed tire. I just wish I have bought more of them when they where $38 each

I just bought a "basic" 10 paddle. Are they that much inferior to the expensive ones?

In your case to axle mount should do. But a hole in the fender is needed for a zip tie to help support the flag. I don't know about a dealer stocking a 10 paddle. Jetting one clip up on the needle. I'm going one richer one the pilot too.

So that puts you at about:
90 pilot
1,360 main
ZZZ needle

Thats only the half of it.

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as it has 10 paddles.
