finance chick just called me back... ford credit 72 month 5.99% with a $760 payment.... no way... so I just left the sales guy a message and said I will be returning it unless he can get that payment down to $700, we'll see how bad they want to sell.

diesels are top dollar here, I'm finding 2 and 3 year old ones for 40k and 5 year old ones for 30. If the sales dude can't make the financing work, then I will get my old truck back, fix the cam phasers, do the plugs, coils and exhaust manifolds and drive it until the wheels fall off, I don't give a shit at this point.

ya, he paid 55k+tax, title, doc, etc. probably got a loan for 60k and his only option is to give the fucker back. the bank then auctions it off to dealers who put it on their lots for 40k after buying it at auction for 30k. This f250 is 38k brand new, but the negative from the f150 and tax are the problem right now. If I were to get the f150 back and private party sell it, I could probably break even, then private party finance a couple year old diesel for 30 and have the payments where I want them, but thats still another used truck that is most likely out of warranty. I'd like to find a way to make this one work. I still haven't heard back from the sales dude, but I did the math and I got preapproved from my CU and they will do 4.45% for 72mo, but then I have to pay $1000 more because I was getting a 1000 rebate for using ford motor credit for financing. the big problem is the sent me out the door saying they could do 84 month financing and for some strange reason no one will apprive me for 84 mo and in the last 2 weeks my credit union quit listing 84mo as an option. They have to knock 2900 off for my cu financing to get under 700/mo, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

That's a steep payment even $700/month is a lot. I'm suprised they let you off the lot with the truck before any of that happened. Around here you have to be approved and sign papers know the APR and montly payment before they let you off the lot.

LOL, ya, thats the problem, my mortgage is $945

Finally talked to the sales guy and I said I was going to return it. He asked what rate my CU was giving me and asked some more about where I wanted the payment to be, etc. and asked me to call him when I was on my way... I'll be dropping it off this afternoon after work and we'll see how much of the free tank of diesel I can burn on the way  BBBOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTT

I did more research on the problems the f-150 was having, looks like I can fix everything on it for under a grand, but I might have to pull the heads. I guess I'll make a weekend of it.

I was approved, did sign, etc. last minute the lender decided they wouldn't do 84 month financing. It looks like all the banks just now decided to stop 84mo loans.

yeah, she had 3 lenders lined up and they all gave BS reasons for not lending. Ford motor credit gave me the tier1 rate, but it was just for a 72 month loan, same with my credit union.
I can't help but wonder if it is gods way of stopping me from making a mistake. My mother in law called me earlier and offered to give me 2k to put down to bring the payment down, I said "thanks, but no thanks"
Maybe I can private party the f-150 and get something like the links Bob posted for super cheap, or....... hnederson chevy has 1 2010 duramax in stock, I wonder if it will still be there when they get the 2011s in

that sucks. With the economy they don't want to loan very many people money these days. That a awesome house payment though. No way no how could you get a house for the payment unless you dumped a shit load of money on the down payment.

Yeah, I scored being in vegas for that, the shit economy around here is helping out those of us in an alright position to break ahead. The house I got I paid 132k for and it was last sold for 360k. I ended up caughing up like 8k to cover 3.5% and the extra escrow expenses which came from selling my 500s. I was also hoping to get into a brand new diesel for a really good price since right now people around here aren;t lining up to buy $60k trucks, but the neagtive equity from my f150 kinda screwed me on that one.

looks like you dodged a bullet. the way i drive there wouldn't be anything left of that truck after 84 months. that seems like a crazy recipe for getting upside-down real quick.
