yota we are waiting for an engineer to get back to us on the heat treating.
another prob with heat treating will be the Australian compliance plate is a sticker which will melt when the heat treatment is done

but we got an engineer to check out what the difference in strength will be between treated and not treated...

That was my old frame, I talked to AJ about it and he came down and replaced it for me.

Chalk one up for AJ and S/H standing behind their work!!!!

I'm glad you got this one taken care of Scott. How does the replacement look?

Can you imagine if some Aussie or Kiwi purchased a S/H, had it shipped half way around the globe.... and this showed up?

You Aussie hoons are doing quite a bit of good work, keep it up!
Bob if i got a S/H and it turned up like that i more then likely would return the frame back in little pieces

thats not the 1st thing I've heard about AJ making good. maybe that photo should go away since he did the right thing and that frame technically doesn't exist anymore.

it will be interesting to see if it is even necessary. seems the vast majority of the home done conversions are not heat treated and seem to hold up but in extreme use ( jumping long and hard core MX) its maybe not a bad idea. My TTM frame came to me without the Honda sticker, I assumed it had to come off to heat treat or was just fried in the process. does anyone know if AJ has his frames re-heat treated after welding?

Our Aussie friends build one of the most incredible conversions out there and you junk up their thread with the same old tired ass anti-Service Honda bullshit.

Damn, give it a fuckin' rest already. :chair:

I think its great news that S/H took back some less than acceptable product, and made good on a deal.

I wonder who's pounding away and relentless hammering got them to replace it?

Now, if something could be done about the $1200+ worth of useless "Digital" Ignitions" sitting in Jay Lewis's garage.....and elsewhere.

My experience with aluminum that has been bent without heat treatment hasn't been very good. Probably if the two downtubes were heat treated it would be enough.

danny there is no fuel pump in the 450x only in the R model

the head clearance to the tank is good since were running a ngk r-7282 spark plug.
if we wanted a bit more room we can run a fuel cock from the 08 450r
