Initially when it went 9.79 it had a 468 with a 150 shot. This was on a 10" slick, no tranny brake, 8 point cage and full interior.

Travis can't you sell one of the other bikes or quads instead? A CR500 just isn't worth anything. You got a 250 or something? I don't even know what other bikes you have but I'm sure you can get more for them, and keep the 500 afterall.

Ok guys, looks like I may have found a better option. This guy wants to trade for a quad. Would this car be easier fixed or the other.

Well at least this one is inside and out of the weather.

Here are some of the problem areas on these 1st Gen Camaros.
Floor Pans

Rockers

Quarters - the uppers seams were originally done with lead, so don't be surprised to find this when you knock it all down. Lead is good.

Inner and Outer wheel housings.

Trunk pan

Look at the upper shock mounts

Look at the seal area at the bottom of the rear window.

Get ready to spend 100's like 20's. Good luck.

My best advice to you......and this comes from having done a few of these. Save your money and buy the absolute best car you can to start with. You will save money in the long run and not have some cobbled together P.O.S. like you can find in Auto Trader daily that someone decided to buy and try their hand at body work on. This is not meant as insult to you or your ability, but hopefully some guidance as a result of my past ventures in rebuilding these cars. Set yourself a budget for the build and then add 30% for all the crap work that will be hidden or have to be re-done from 40 years of shit bags working on your car.

I bet that Camaro has gone through 3 owners... in that exact condition...

Dont be the 4th....

This car is a better starting point, but dont fool yourself into how much $$$ its going to take to get it driveable..

If you dont have the $$$, dont even start.

It makes me sick thinking of what kind of money it would take to make this a driver, let alone nice.

It looks like it has been sitting in a barn. I saw all the dust on it and nothing else in the garage has a layer of dust like that. Also the Bird Shit makes me think it was in a Barn. I am not sitting on the money to fix it or anything but I am in no hurry to have a new car. I am sure you guys are right that it will cost quiet a bit to fix but I have plenty of time to fix it. I can get the body work done for free. I have a buddy that if I keep in Cigarettes and beer he will work for free. The only parts I will have to buy are missing parts and broken parts.

So the guy with the green car wants my quad and 3000. Then he wants me to come to him. He is about 100 miles south of Chicago. So that deal looks to be out of the picture because I think my quad is worth more than 1000 and who wants to drive 300 miles for a raw deal anyway. So looks like the one without the door or nothing for now. Most likely end up being nothing anyway. May still have to let go of my bike but I am going to hang onto it for as long as I can. I would get rid of the xr but I think I am going to save it for the motor. I have that 400ex frame that needs a motor. Does anyone have any 400ex parts?
