Under "Honda 500AF 2011", image 4 and 5 in particular. You can see that not much has changed with the welding or design....But it's a steal at only $10,999
And if I ever sell one of my bikes, can I title the post as a CR500AF? I understand that AF and 500AF are registered, but CR500AF as well...
1. I have no need to defend my work here, its pointless?
Its like defending ford pickups at a chevy forum, or vice versa.
The bottom line is that no one would be using the Service Honda company name or model names in conjunction with their ads to sell their other conversions, if i actually needed to defend anything.
There is no way to avoid that fact.
Bob can spit out his miss truths, insults at my family,, and deceptions all he wants it doesn't change that fact.
2. the price.
add the price of a current CRF250R and all the parts needed to
assemble a brand new CR500 engine, and other parts needed for the conversion,
subtract the possible amount you might sell the CRF250R unused parts for.
Until anyone here steps up and either does that ,or admits there is little margin at all at 11K ,that long debate is simply a moot point.
It is what it costs to assemble one,a fact.
3.Bob just stated another one of his many lies..
many articles in various magazines around the world have shown detailed photos of the bike in all areas.
you just mentioned a few on our own website.
he is hypocritical in his views on this topic
(as well as the topic of tattoos )
as very apparent in this thread, where such a simple thing as an intentional miss listing he cant even acknowledge why it was miss listed.
its funny, and no big deal, until it can't even acknowledged
the basic *why* it was used.
his ebay example defending using search terms is laughable,
if i list a spark plug, and then use YZ,KX,RM CR as search words as it fits all those bikes that's one thing?
and of course ebay would not pull such an ad.
That is far different than intentionally listing a converted off road motorcycle, with a CR500 engine,
as a Service Honda CR500AF in the ad's title.
If he isn't smart enough to see the difference and the reason it violates Ebays Terms of service, then he a bit more dense than i previously thougbt.
He is also far more hypocritical, if this was pauls situation ,
he would be all fired up about it in his own special way
I loved the comment that any given letters or numbers is a verb?
are they a noun as well? just curious bob? lol
also please inform Henry Ford that *T* can't be trademarked, its just a letter right?
Certainly AF is registered by Cannon as well for auto focus camera..?
and you won't see other cameras with the designation.
Regardless if other letters or numbers are placed in front of or behind them. Nikon wont call any camera they have a 350AF..or AF 350.. or AF 350 IT..Trademarks are specific to context.
AF® is registered to Service Honda in motorcycles.
Why is that some problem?
Bob knows perfectly well KX is registered for kawasaki,
and that yamaha cant come out with a motorcycle named a
KX430YZ
but he wants to debate something quite silly.
Agenda anyone?
Yes CR is owned by Honda. period(in the realm of motorcycles)
(and we are also a franchised Honda dealership )
i'm fairly certain the letters CR , or even KX, are registered to others in other fields of business.
Th emost amusing thing is, ultimately the this wasn't about trademark anyway?
The ad used a company name, that is hated here..and railed against pretty much endlessly..lol
so using it to promote the sale of one of pauls bikes. is funny.
if you cant see any ironic humor in that ,
then the forum certainly takes things way too seriously.
Its what i was pointing out ,
and with the amount of shit shoveled my way here, I tossed some back
for fun.
SR500 -
I don't get your point if Honda was never a company?
Service Powersports ,would still be a KAW,SUZ, YAM, BRP dealership, maybe KTM as well?
I left a far better paying career, to do something I enjoy,
its very small potatoes ,and i dont think much of its success actually.
sorry if the very meager success in the big picture ruffles your feathers
Its been going 14 years or longer now, and i'm currently more busy than ever.
If I ever need to flip burgers to feed my family i certainly will..no problem at all..
and I don't think less of those who do those jobs.
You have a pretty wrong impression overall of my thoughts as well.
I dig all various conversions and applaud those who do them,
always have.
