Roger that bob, you are correct I should of posted what I was thinking, I went about it wrong, i have been known to jump into things before I think them thru, my point being a full on custom ar15 I built, dumped $3200 into it like an idiot and lost my yob! Sold it for $1500 to pay the mortgage on my house with that said i talked to paul on the phone today and got his take on it and, I'm going to run it and see what happens! Worst case senecio it crakcks, I get a new y( I must say the gen 4 y is bitchen) put the new frame rails in and boom bang fire power.

Thanks Paul, bob, All my sponsers, Troy lee, maxima oils..... Just kidding.

Thanks everyone!

And the lesson for today kids... Don't smoke crack!
If my welder can build race cars... Doesn't mean he can do a bike. Lesson learned.

I'm not so sure I would run it.... With you being 300 lbs, its prolly not going to crack, its going to fail abruptly.

Hospital bills are expensive, correcting it now isnt by comparison.

You might want to rethink this.....

Flatbiller if you can get a 450 frame for the y over the crf250 frame do it, the 450 y is much beefier. the downtube fit is deeper as is the cradle tubes. I mod crf frames now and when i start doing billet y's for the crf250 frame im going to design it based on the 450 y.

That cr250 frame on ebay that was posted here i bought it, i have shanmans prints for the parts and after reading all info here just might make that one my personal bike.

The 250 Y has pockets cast in to accept the square tubing, and the 450 Y has rectangle tubing welded directly to it.... no?

Thanks ps.
The 3rd pic down on your post shows exactly why i dont like the crf 250 Y, lmao. The down tube pocket has maybe 3/8" depth and the frame rails barely go in a 1/16" at the shallowest depth,
The 2005 crf 450 frame im modding i was able to get the downtube to fit into the y 1 1/4" and the frame rails go in 1/2 " at the shallowest depth.

Went and looked at this 08 450 frame today, it's deffinatley the y I'm after! His add said 300. I get there he says 450 and it's yours, I said your add says 3, and I will give you 2 since I got to take it apart, that frame is a no go! eBay it is! I can get them shipped to my house for less than 200!

Ok so I have a question. When I put a new stock y over the down tube. Do I need to cut some of the down tube off?

Reason im asking is when it was cut and pushed foward, he cut straight thru the y just bellow the half moon and straight into the down tube, so when I get the new y I wanna know how much to cut off and hopefully I can cut off his weld. How far does the down tube go into the y on a gen 3?
