Yea thats what she wants is to park parallel to the ocean with the front door facing it. Which means I will have to do a u'e getting out. If all goes well I am bringing a 36' motorhome with a 12' trailer.
Dude you and 3/4 of the other campers want to face the ocean so you better be one of the 1st or one of the last . what that means is if we get a big area its you need to be one of the 1st and clame your spot. if we get a small area you would want to be last so everyone can get past you .
I wouldent count on an door side ocean view. and I wouldent tell her she is going to get one eather.
infact depending on how crouded it is mite want to line up a tow truck to get you in & out . the last few times when I got there its been hard to find and area along the beach big enough to back my trailer into some of you guys mite want to think about that. its only after a day or 2 I recover enough area for the rest of us but that may not happen . (allways has in the past though)

My self ill back into the camp area right angle to the water that way I can get in & out on my own most of the time. and I dont take up much beach front .

as far as water / sewer yeah you can fill & dump down by the trailer park its down by the 1st entry way onto the beach . if you take the 101 and get of towards pismo state beach youll get off in grover beach just follow the signs to the state beach when you hit HWY-1 trun right and then i thinks its the 1st left into the trailer park and the dump station is on the left you can fill/dump there .

if you really ever get into pulling your rig around you need it invest into an aux fule tank. Ill go from yucca valley to pismo & back with out stoping for fule. about 600 miles. I also have a big enought truck now I just fill up my water at home & pull the trailer loaded with water & fule
about 18,000-19,000 lbs.
The truck is rated for 26,000 lbs

I made it there on 1/2 tank in the X. And I dont think u want your door facing the ocean...unless you like lotsa wind! Here is the view from my side window when I was there:

If you notice the little trench in the pic, that was to guide the water away from the trailer. Yes, the tide comes in that high! I was just out of reach...

Make sure you bring half sheets of plywood to cover up the bottom of your trailers!! I rigged mine with a tarp and some wood and that worked. Air down to 15PSI! I found the best bet was to pull in on the hardpack as close to the water as you can, swing a wide u turn and pull up on the beach as high as possible. When you stop, you're done. To get fresh water, turn left on the little driveway/street after Pier Ave. Its a RV park. On the opposite side of the street, there is a dump station/fresh water fill. Its state run so its open from 7a-7p (I think). Then enter the park from Pier ave. Important! Get in early in the day to beat high tide - that way you can get the best run up on the beach. Get as high up on the sand as possible so the tide wont getcha! Dig trenches in the evening as a blockade...I got gas (diesel) in Santa Maria on my way out off of 101 and Main. Two stations, Shell and Mobil - same price at both. But they both had 4.99 diesel whereas everone else was 5.29+.

I dont "need" to wait to fill the water I just figured why waste the gas pulling almost 1000 extra lbs. when I can just fill up near Pismo. How much does the RV park charge for filling fresh?? Is it easy to find?? We are from Vegas after all!!

Im also planning on brining most if not ALL the diesel I need with me, so waiting to fill the fresh would off set that fuel weight nicely.

Jay, you still have your air compressor right?? I was able to drive around in the soft stuff just fine with Brits trailer but mine is a lot bigger and heavier so I plan to air down, but I need the ability to air back up and my little compressor would take eons!!

I'm bringing a boat, maybe someone else could bring one also. I want to go into the ocean for a little crazy fun. I don't have any fishing equipment, but someone should bring a couple small fishing rods, would be cool to catch a fish. I'll bring some straps and clevises also for recovery, never can have enough recovery gear.

Fishing liscence, no, so then I guess I'll just go out with the boat and some beers. Surely other people would like to go into the water, you can't all be land lubbers.

Yeah the fill area is pretty easy to find. One block past the turnoff to beach access (Pier Ave.) And there is no charge. Its next to the RV park, on state property though. The pressure is pretty good. Filled my 100Gal pretty quick. Oh and theres this truck that comes around to pump yur tanks for ya for $30 and replenished yur fresh for $.50/Gal. Do not dump your grey - fines are pretty hefty! I saw people fishing too. Theres clam digging also. Kids found a ton of sand dollars. And the sand crabs are about 2" long x 1" in diameter! Curios, how much u paying for diesel over there? U still runnin bio?

Tell you what, if your at Pismo we can share it. I'll mix it, you light it. We may have to use a little for shooting practice before the trip. We will see if this works like they say it does without shooting it.

Thanks on the water info. I try not to tow water all the way(puts me over on weight). also try to make it as far as possible on each tank. Hay brit if your the only one riding with me you should bring your shit down here, then well split from my house. Would save a tank of fuel.
