good input guys. I agree the N-styles I've had tore easily and I have a One Ind yamaha Hurricane kit and the cover wouldn't even go on. Like the Ceet unit I just looked at on line. I sent SDG an email just now asking if they can do a step seat for the 125 (just for shits). They only offer it for the damn 4 strokes. 4 strokes suuuuuck.

I have a DNG step seat on my 450 when I got the roller I removed the cover and cut it down made it flat again I don't think you need a step seat a good gripper seat is all you need.

I gotten on my TTM500 hard I see no reason for a step seat it could help in S/M but in the drit the rear wheel doing 70 MPH while the rest of the bike trying to cacth up to it it pulls but nothing you can't hold on to.

For me the only time the bike is a job to hang on to is getting on it hard when you are standing up on the pegs just hold on with you knees boots and hold on bars with the death grip you should do fine Ha Ha.

But I have notice the CR500 is easyer to hold on to than my KTM560 Ported getting to speed I used a lot more knee and boots to stay on the bike.

Like I said before the CR5000 is much more fun to ride when you hit the gas it takes off the way a dirt bike should run but the KTM would run aways form the CR topend whith out breacking a sweat CR 80 or 90 MPH pushing it give or take the KTM 110 to 120 crusing in 6th gear.

Thats 1 of 2 things I miss about the KTM topend speed and the Button start thet rest of 4 Stroke dirt bike world they can keep weight and cost of putting them back together when they break.

yeah, I don't need no stinkin step seat! as to 4 strokes, I've had one 450 and 3 250f's in the past, enjoyed them at the time but found I was grabbing a 2 stroke to put in my truck way more often so they would mostly sit. sold my last one to a friend recently and have no regrets. my son came over to check out my build the other night and was forcing me to add up what I've spent on this. he said "wow, you could have almost bought a new bike". It occurred to me then that I can't think of a new bike I would really want right now. I have a KTM 200 that is just the shits (in a good way) and I will soon be on the TTM. none of the 4T's interest me at all.

airbox install was ok. had to take off the shock to get it on. aligns pretty good but theres a little pressure on the starboard side of the boot once the subrame bolts on straight. if you loosen the clamp the boot wants to pull off the carb bell.

You can take the airboot back off use a heat gun get nice and hot press the boot in were it hits let it cool it should hold it new shape I had to do this.

But after I installed the Rad Vavle it clocked my carb away from the shock and gave me more room between the shock and the boot.

Don't you love it but after you get all the bugs worked out it worth it.

I think I would have been ok with the narrower kayaba shock. I may try your heat gun trick... thanks

Take the air box loose from the subframe, get boot on, tighten clamp, the rest is cake.

if I remember correctly the DNA wheels are 21x1.60 and 18x2.15. The front tire is a Pirelli Scorpion MX soft 410 and the rear is a Trelleborg 120/18.

all we have here is sand so my usual combo is Mich S12 front and either a Mich Starcross rear or a dunlop 773 rear but I thought I would try a new combo. The S12 front is hard to beat in sand but the S12 rear sucks here as the palmetto roots tear the knobs off quickly.

Did you choose a 36 spoke rear wheel because you thought the 32 spoke was to weak, or that was what they had available.
It had nothing to do with strength.

since you are in OZ have you ever had Terry Hay do your suspension? I would love to try his work, I'm a big fan from having been thru hours of suspension banter years ago on KTM Talk and Dirtrider.net, when those boards actually had serious suspension discussions. They are not the same any more. He and Jeremy Wilkey used to got at it hammer and tongs.

No I haven't had Terry do any suspension work.
I was going to get him to do some work on a project I was screwing around with but change direction and canned the project.
Juddy has had his suspension done by Terry on his 05 CRF450/500AF, ask him what he thinks.

(: I am old but I've always done that, I have 8 or 9 bikes and its hard to remember whats what. I always mark my oil change date with sharpie on the cases and sometimes add hashmarks to denote the number of rides on an oil change.

Hell your race shop looks like a NASCAR shop, workbench with no oil stains, paper work neatly stacked.
He even has an office chair at his work bench.

You dont have to be old to forget things.
A guy who lived not far from me was that excited to get his worked V8 going that he started it with no oil in it.
Needless to say he F@#KED that up in no time a all, expensive brain fade without a doubt.
Moral of the story, leaving notes = saving lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$ time and heart ache.
He was in his early 20s.
You say your rear wheel has 32 spokes, but the picture on page 2 has 36 so that picture can't be your rear wheel.
Getting old doesn't suck, its the damn health problems that come with it.
As far as I know Juddy is happy with his suspension work that was done by Terry, but it is best too ask him for an accurate evaluation of it. :wink:
