probly be in over your head unless you want to run it at the dunes. checkout the saber vids i posted and thats a good idea how it will run. 0-80mph in less than 4sec is flat ass moving, granted that was a special drag chassis but still. that much power in a bike would be insane but go for it if you got the brass balls to ride it. still not sure if theyre avalaible to the public, havent talked to calvin in a month or two. i cant afford one right now so im not that concearned about the progress. definatly anxious to see some youtube vids though  . gonna port the 550 with honda rod over the winter and that should be a fair amount more ponies than a cr500 so i should be content with that setup for a while atleast. might upgrade later down the road to one of calvins cylinders if i need more juice ...... assuming i have the extra cash. everything costs so damn much money these days

haha, my zx14 was faster than that when it was stock!
Capable of 90 mph in 1st gear without even having to shift!
I rode the zx14 to 185 mph the first day I owned it!
Does that account for enough brass?

In any event, I would use that motor for ice racing, where it could be used.
Agreed... CP Ind jug, is not a trail port engine.

300ft is allot shorter than people realize and anything with +80mph is hauling the mail.

Here is a zx-14 specs
Kawasaki ZX-14
60-ft 1.713 second
330-ft 4.349
1/8-mile 6.447 @ 117.39 mph
1/4- mile 9.783 @ 147.04 mph

stats from this write up: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/157/299/M ... -Test.aspx

typical 60ft times for the big singles at planet sand races will be 1.5 secs for 60ft and 3.9-4.0 for 300ft with some even running 3.8's

I believe Matt Shearer was 3.7 somthing but he was on NOS and from what I know Packards 3.8 was on alcohol only.

Have my cylinder and everything to go with it, so I will snap some pictures next week after I pull the motor out of my bike and start mocking it up.

RSSS396, I am a fan... I even think your user name is cool. Those Camaro's were very fine cars.
I want you to know I am not disrespecting you, or what you are doing with your quads, I admire it, and appreciate what you contribute to the CR500 community, and pay close attention and learn from your posts.
So please do not take offense. It was never meant that way, and that is not my style.

My statement about my zx14 was not meant as derogatory to the size of your brass, but validating mine, since Clyde was getting smart.

Kevin Duke is not a drag racer, and his 1/4 mile times are less than stellar too.

My zx14 on stock wheelbase the best times I ran were
1.52 60ft
3.92 330ft
5.7 1/8
9.42 @ 150 mph 1/4 mile

with +4 inch wheelbase ( 62 " total) 50HP NOS from 2nd gear up, airshifting= 8.72 @ 160 mph
Thats with ~230 RWHP
Traction is always an issue with a street tire.

will have to see where more swingarm and the GT35R will get me next year. That will be ~290 RWHP on pump fuel, and over 500 RWHP on C-16

no offense taken in fact I don't think my post come across right either.

I know those big Kawi's fly just trying to show that even with allot less horsepower these super light bikes can be fast in a short race.

290hp gonna be a wild ride for sure with that turbo!

Here's a pic of my Camaro had for 22 plus years, don't get it out enough with all my other hobbies and work.

thanks,
it was a original 396 car but the motor was gone when I got it so it has a 427 w/rectangle port heads and factory alum intake along with a 850 carb.
The motor is basicly old school factory performance parts like everybody did 20 years ago.
But it did turn 12.20 at 112mph so its runs ok but performance parts have come along way since I restored it and built the motor.
