Cool, what was the verdict on the old basket? Did you find anybody to look at it?
By the way, where do you ride?
I found some brutal helmet cam video of the hare scrambles at Devils Ridge.
Absolutley brutal mud. Reminded me of Unadilla MXDN, 87 or 89 something like that.

update: took her out for the break in and all went well. it is running a little rich though. its got a 180 main with the needle set in the middle groove, so I'm gonna move the clip a notch higher before I go smaller on the main and see if that helps.

Sweet! I bought a 1994 roller the other day specifically for the front end. I may put it on my 480.
Where did you get the white plastic?

dc side panels but they suck. they are brittle and doubt they would take a fall. ill be switching to the vmx orange ones when these get bashed. I'm going to redo the original forks to swap out in case I do any ahrma racing but the '87 forks rock!

I went to the Ahrma national at Devils Ridge recently and the 480 was the most popular bike in it's class. I also heard that Lake Sugar Tree in Axton Virginia was going to be on the national schedule next year. That one is almost in my back yard.
Come on out and participate, it's cool. Like travelling back in time.
btw-What's the latest on the clutch basket? Were you able to get it fixed?
I know someone that has a bike he's parting out. I bought some stuff from him. He's on mark's swapmeet.

i got the basket repaired so i have a spare now. i have some extra jets so i will do some experimenting. i'm running vp 110 right now but i think it would be alot more practical to mix it 50/50. with the desert tank it cost $32+ premix to fill up

all i know is it rips when i get into 3 and 4th, but 1st and secend it sputters pretty bad.

I'm not up on jetting yet. There's a sticky somewhere on here that details all about it. I'll be doing it soon though.
btw-Where do I get the VP gas?
I bought a couple bottles of Klotz octane booster I thought I would try.
Heck, with all the weedeaters and stuff I have I could use it in those too!

thanks redrocket, the jetting is going much better. the smallest I had was a 175. so I dropped the needle to the leanest position and finally!....... I can start her with 1 kick! I need to order the 172 though. still loads up on the bottom. the plug is a little wet, but much, much better.

X 2,
Could the arousal that bike gives be in the same class as a cougar?
1. Cougar -
An older woman who frequents clubs in order to score with a much younger man. The cougar can be anyone from an overly surgically altered wind tunnel victim, to an absolute sad and bloated old horn-meister, to a real hottie or milf. Cougars are gaining in popularity -- particularly the true hotties -- as young men find not only a sexual high, but many times a chick with her shit together.
"That cougar I met last night, showed me shit I didn't know existed, I'm goin back for more".
2. Cougar -
An attractive woman in her 30's or 40's who is on the hunt once again. She may be found in the usual hunting grounds: nightclubs, bars, beaches, etc. She will not play the usual B.S. games that women in their early twenties participate in. End state, she will be going for the kill, just like you. Associated with milfs
"I bagged a cougar last night at the club".
3. Cougar -
Coo-gher. An older woman who's primary interest lies in bedding younger men. Often, but not necessarily, with money; cougars are the more aggressive variety of the commonly used term: milf.
"I think that cougar just grabbed my ass"!

I've been testing/adjusting jets and needle positions the last 2 weeks ( basically riding after work ) and think I'm pretty close to perfect with the carb tuning. 172 main, 65 pilot, and the needle clip all the way on top. she pulls hard now throughout with no more stumble and still starts with 1 kick.
