If I were you I would forget about the front disc cover. I think bikes look better w/out them.

Try Devol, not plastic, Aluminum. They look sharp and function real nice.

I think you don't ride in trails, dry rivers.... with a lot of stones

or in a forest you'll don't need the disc cover

but if you like the look

by the way i never heard about this brand "maier",oscar?

they mostly do vintage plastics. like they still sell body work for '70s and '80s bikes and now a lot of early '90s bikes. about the only place to buy stuff for like an '85-'88

me too, got them for my old '87 cr125. looped the bike going up a crazy hill and the rear fender bent in half. when I pushed it back down there was a bag lineand it was ver weak.

The thing is, I DO ride trails, rocky river beds & forests here in Colorado. I don't go to tracks often at all, so a front disc cover does come in handy from time to time

 but just one question why you don't buy an acerbis or ufo disc cover?

Really nice job with the restoration. you are right it will never be that clean again unless you do another restoration.

The best way to stop things rubbing on the plastics is to remove all non-essential plastics from the bike and store in cotton wool until you are ready to sell your bike. :D
