Dodge is the best IMO, the older fords are ok but the new ones are a POS

so, I got that fucking intake off, what a PITA! I wish GM would put the wire harness along a crossmember or along the firewall like everyone else! and I wish they would decide if their vehicles are metric or standard... WTF!
anyway, some D-bag put a crap load of stop leak in there when the coolant was leaking into the valley and mixing with the oil so the 2 rear coolant ports were plugged solid over 1/2" thick with this stop leak crap!
just went and picked up a gasket set and t-stat, should finish tonight.

as a comment to the dodge comment, I have a friend who bought a brand new '06 dodge after his late '90s dodge lost an axle and took the wheel with it  anyway, his new dodge blew out the trans and front diff within th first 10k miles  about the only thing on that truck worth anything was that cummins. he traded it in for another dodge (dumbass) now his is having a whole new set of issues.

if I could put a duramax or cummins motor infront of an alison trans in a ford chassis, that would be the perfect truck for me  hell, even an old 7.3 ford, just a different trans.

a crank better be in the budget, anoterh 300 miles and you'll be in it

the gasket was crap, but hey the heads arent junk like the ford 2.9+4.0s
its not like a ram 318/360 where the valve seats are wore out by 100,000kms, the valves recess in the head and stack up to break the pushrods, kick a lifter, no oil and bang shes over

felpro has the best gasket to replace that vortec stuff, aluminum with rubber, never do it again.

just finished the fucking thing! the aluminum was all eaten away at the 2 rear ports on the manifold. so I wire wheeled it to break the powder shit loose, then I RTVed the hell out of it w/ the new revised felpro gaskets. should be solid, I went through the same thing with my old c2500. before I start it I'm changing the oil.

turns out my mother in law was told when she did an oil change 6 months ago that there was coolant in her oil and didn't tell me. then she came home the other day after getting an oil change and told me the guy there said she needed to replace the manifold gaskets for liek $700. so I told her I would see if I see a leak (she STILL didn't tell me he said there was water in the oil). Yesterday she comes home and tells me it over heated. I look for leaks on the outside, none, I check oil, looks a quart over.....
I will see how long the bearings last when I add some fresh oil tomorrow.
