I would love to find the administrator of that school district and issue them a good old country ass kicking. They can fuck each other in the ass all they want, but don't teach that shit in the schools.

Listen up homo's..... Its your choice, not your right.

I have a cousin that runs a little, quaint, Bed and Breakfast up in Napa Valley.

She has a strict, MARRIED COUPLES ONLY policy. If your names dont match on your drivers licenses... no stay.

Guess what? If 8 loses, any two butt pirates can FORCE her to rent them rooms.

They can have a gay convention there, and take over the place. If she dosent allow it, they can sue her for everything she has, and most likely win.

And you dont think this is some kind of power grab Mike?

What ANY two people do in the privacy of their home, I could care less about.

When you shove down my throat that Gay Mariage is a right, backed by the Constitution that this great country was founded on... fuck you.

I would support some kind of "Partners Rights" law.... that strightens out issues with hospital visitation, property rights and ownership, and other LEGAL rangling... But forcing me to accept gay marriage in the same concept as traditional marriage.... no way.

Forcing Christian hospitals and charities to supply services and treatment all LEGALLY married couples is fucked up too.

You could NEVER force a Jewish Temple to serve Pork, but you can force a Christian hospital to knock up two lesbians...

The world is all going to hell.......

The sun set on the British Empire long ago..... its sunset in the ol' USA right now....

It's an emotional "debate" and I don't see my exchange of ideas, just propaganda. It looks like the vote will be very close that means a large % of people are going to be pissed off at a time when California has some much larger issues to deal with.

I repeat my previous assertion that the Government should be completely removed from the marriage business - directly (granting licenses etc.) and indirectly (rewarding behavior via incentives). Then marriage can be defined by religious institutions using their own rules and if you don't like the rules, find another church. So if you like I am against both "traditional" and gay marriage from that perspective.

If you have a private business it's your property and you should be able to service who you want (or not). I don't think the Proposition influences that in either direction. Interestingly, I remember quite clearly that Mission Viejo hospital which is Catholic will not tie a womens' tubes - so perhaps things have changed in the last 8 years.

...and yes the sun is setting on the American Empire. That's what happens when you lose sight of the important stuff that made (makes!) the USA different and special. A large un-affordable military presence abroad, 50% of the world's defense spend, un-funded entitlements, massive foreign debt under-mining your currency, asset bubbles hiding poor organic growth, big government and loss of liberties - yep that's quite a kick in the nuts for any country. However, I truly believe the USA can and will be still something special even if we have to walk with a little more humility in the future.

It unequivicly does!!!!

The implicaions are vast and far reaching....

There are aprox. 1,400 legal rights conferred upon married couples in the U.S. Typically these are composed of about 400 state benefits and over 1,000 federal benefits.

There are probably just as many "Social" benefits...

...and what point is that?

Like I posted eariler, the Governement will force someones sexuality, which is a choice, down the throat of someone who rejects it on moral or religious grounds.

Of all the laws I referenced some have to do with LEGAL issues, and these should be extended, but nowhere should anyone be forced to accept it if its contrasts their personal beleifs.

It's spreading like the plague in the country. Good thing there is really 2 Missouri's. There is one that is comprised of St. Louis and Kansas City which always votes towards the liberal end and then there is the rest of the state that is bible belt and would never support teaching kids homo stuff in schools and gay marriage.

kids shouldn't even really know what a homo is let alone be taught its ok to be one.

My kids are going to private school for a reason, plublic school is almost always geared way to the left politically.

I'm liking Bobs idea, give them legal rights like for property purchases, next of kin, hospital visitation, etc.

I wouldn't get married if I wasn't going to have children with her. I see no reason to be married if not for the protection of your future children. That being said... two dicks don't make a baby...

My son Jack asked me what "gay" meant, with all the Prop 8 shit on TV, and school.

I told him straight out.... "its when two men get together, and one sticks his "ding-dong" in the butt of the other guy...." ( I am talking to 10 year old.....)

His expression?

 :barf:  :barf:  :barf:  :barf:  :barf:  :barf:  :barf:  :barf:  :barf:

Stiles, I'm curious what you think about this?? Does NO on 8 also mean you think it should also legalize Bigamy, and Polygamy.

I would think it two fags can marry, then a hetero male should be able to marry multiple females.... no?

How about marrying a corpse? Where is the line, and who is going to define it?

I think its silly that we would argue over this in 2008. who cares you marries whom? and what difference does it make if a teacher or the TV teaches your kid about homosexuality? wake up folks. most of the people posting about this issue live in california, one of the most dense gay populations in america. your kids will see/learn/hear and make thier own decision anyway. you can't hide from something that has existed since the dawn of time. It surprises me that hoons get thier feathers ruffled about gay rights. are they taking anything from you? if so, enlighten me....please.

I for one am completley indifferent to a person sexuality. My roomate is gay, both of them actually. My girlfriend and I couldn't care less what they do in thier bedrooms.

I have a gay fishing buddy, and one of the better MX guys I rode with in high school was gay. whatever.

LOL, I had a gay friend in high school and he was really cool. Never tried anything with us strait guys, stole a couple sega dreamcasts for us from toys r us, and used to talk to girls for me. He actually hooked me up with a few girls. cool guy and him being gay never really had a negative effect on his part in our little click. Plus he looked like 30 so he could buy us beer! :D

I'm totally neutral on this, I think they should have the rights they are after, but I don't know if they should really get the protection that married couples who bare children should.
whatever, I'm not in cali, so I'm not voting on this anyway. I already voted last week (nevada has early voting) woot!

I am not against them having the same rights as married people. More power to em. But the debate is the definition of marriage. If gays want to marry, they can have domestic partnerships. Just adjust the rest of the rules and laws to accommodate them - like retirement benefits, health care, etc. No? Still not fair? I know this shit wont go away - so there has to be a compromise. Just marriage is soley for man and women. DP is for gays/lebos.

that alone goes to show that people vote for the wrong reasons, anyone who was a real obama supporter wouldn't vote yes on 8.
middle of the road people who voted yes on 8 also voted a socialist prez in because they did what was "cool" and definitly nothing like bush, instead of voting based on the issues.
