well, the gen-4 450 and 250 might be different, but nothing really worked out smooth on my gen-4 250 chassis.

I popped a hole in a gen-4 tank just to get a standard plug to fit, let alone be removed without removing the tank.
both gen-4s required over an hour each of heat gun use to get the tanks to clear for a shorty plug. I had to fab a plate for the air box on both and the hose routing sucks. the wiring wasn't too bad for me, but the X model doesn't give much room for the coil which makes the wiring a mess.

the one positive on the gen-4 as far as conversion is concerned is the great carb access you get and the easy of cable routing. Everything else is a PITA. plus on a gen-3 250 to don't have to modify the lower mounts, making just one less thing to do. a gen-3 conversion can be done in under 10 hours and with out without relocating the Y and requires no tank, or air box mods and very simple rad mods. A gen-4 requires atleast twice the time or more.

no shit!

and my engine is tilted as much as possible and the only plug i can run is the shorty (without modding the tank)...and it's still very close...not touching but close. If somehow the Gen 4 conversion allows you to use a standard plug without any mods and allows you to pull it out without removing the tank, i would be amazed.

the ECM specifies a shorty, the IX is irridium. they used the shorty plugs stock on some kawis and KTMs if you have to go by application.

I can get a shorty out but it is pain to get back in. My motor is all the way foward and for me by far the cleanest conversion.

i'm a fairly un-opinionated guy when it comes to trying to learn from others building something, i've seen many ways of dooing things and ok, i'm fairly new here but, i've never seen a picture of you're work, heard another member praise it, or anyone mention your suff beyond yourself.

apparently we're all willing to accept a lower standard of bike than you would ever throw a leg over, I'm not a bling guy or anything, I've never bought a new bike, truck, or house. I'm sorry but i'm living in the real world where a p.o.s. frame with a 500 in it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

i am going to build an af that i will ride, becasue i've wornout a chassis, and i will drag it back down the hill on its plastics, likely smash a rad or two off of it, and deffinately tear a fender, while treating it just like the old frame i retired, and i'll be having fun dooing it.

i've learnt some stuff having been here, and having wrecked things previously, that will in no doubt be enough of a source to confidently base my build on, and i will share likely reduntant information that i discover that i think is useful to someone else, and until someone else sees it, rides it, or trys the same method and says its better, it will be solely their opinions and to me just another build in the archives.

so please lets see the superior craftsmanship that we are bowing down too that makes your bike the cleanest conversion by far!

How about you tell me which walmart is closest to you, I'll buy a camera and have it there ready for you, and you can take the pics, return the camera to walmart and they can print them at my walmart so I can post them for you
