I'm sorry, I did those backwards:
50/16=3.125
44/14=3.14
49/14=3.5

still means the same to you but I totally entered the numbers backwards.

So i got my old chain from my mechanic & another master link from the shop. turns out I was missing the second bearing on the sprocket side (you can see here

http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o160 ... G_2318.jpg

So i got the new bearing and cap, put them in, got the rim all mounted up & now.....

I have to write a case study on the explorer shackleton & his leadership skills for my leadership in business class so I dont have time to do the chain.... This is the easiest yet never-ending project ive ever done. I could go bang it out quickly now that i got all the pieces but no time to do so... Im still living @ home so I put the rear tire on and rolled it over to where I park it so my mother could get her car back in the garage as the bike has been on jack stands for a week now waiting for the bearing to come in...

hopefully will have it out by the end of the weekend for a little test run. By the way, The brakes seem to not work quite as well as on the other rims. I assume I just have to burn off whatever has built up on them sitting in a barn for 2 or 3 years and who knows how longer in Ohio before I got it?

I would be surprise if you could run a case save with a 15 let alone run a 16 at all...

A 15 works with a case saver after a little grinding, I don't see how a 16 would fit at all.......

Hell a 15 will not fit on my bike at all

I think it's strange some of you say a 15t won't fit :?: I ran a 15 on mine and only took a sliver off a small portion of the case saver. I've since settled on a 14 and you can't tell I had ever touched the saver with a dremmel. We need to compare chain roller diameters and sprocket tooth length.

A 15 will fit on my 86 motor but will not fit on my 01 at all :?

15 fits on my '89 and '87 bottom end just fine :D Just a little grinder action on the case saver

no I dont run a case saver with the 16, but if i go pick up the 14 I will throw it back on...

but w/o a case saver a 16 def will fit on the bike... how else am I going to get 115mph out of it on 17" rims. thats fast enough for me i dont need some rice rocket that does 200mph at all

Well you can get these for a CR500 in a 16t. I don't know if they'd fit? i think if a person wanted to prove a point it would fit with some work. I do think if I removed my case saver like ctatv mentioned one would fit. But I'm only speculating...not to mention it has the potential of being an expensive mistake. Even with a 16,000 lb chain. Shit happens.

Pstoffers did you actually count how many teeth are on that joker?

The picture is for reference only
I didn't scour the internet counting sprocket teeth to post one with 16. I guess you would have? The sprocket in the picture is a Pro Taper model. They make them to fit in a 16t. That's all I was trying to say. And Pstoffers I'm not being a smart ass, I just thought your comment was funny

Lots of companies will make what ever you want but that don't mean it will fit.... And yes I would not have posted a pic of a 14 talking about a 16
but thats just me....
