Shit, I'll be 58 and probably would have downsized by then. :D

Are far as welds go, AJ did mine and they're sweet!

Blows me a way how it even got that far

Just put a flywheel weight on mine, 13 bucks for the puller and a little rope down the plug hole; 15 minutes I was done!!!

For one thing you obviously didnt read my post on cr500 riders. i COULDN'T use a flywheel extractor in the first place because the threads on the fly wheel where shot when i got the engine. The flywheel had a crack in it before i got the engine so the flywheel was no use in the start. So whats the point in spending money when i could fab somehting up for pence? And How is the engine Wrecked? For you info when i brought the engine the cases where fuked already. i even have the ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0288028255 Yes i could of brought a 2 jaw puller but i got it off didnt i?

As for the welding i was useing a stock pvc liner and the feed wasnt smooth at all. i wasnt too concerned as long as the puller worked. also try welding to a magnet!!

And grinding the flywheel and welding didnt damage the crank at all!!

So before you all slag me off i think you should get to know the facts!!

FWIW, i weld on magnatized metal all the time... i often use strong magnets to hold parts together while i tack them.

it has never had a noticable effect on my welding...

yes while you tack! Also like i said my wire feed was real dodgey. Now i have a steel liner so it a lot smoother.

I know the welds looked awful but who cares i got it off. It wasn't like it was staying on there!

I think some people on here either carn't read or need glasses!

I run my POS MIG with a pvc liner and weld both steel and aluminum through the same liner and don't get weld like that! I think you need to crank the heat up majorly and crank up the wire speed.

now, who is it that can't read?

Well its an SIP and they are known for there poor wire feed. I really dont care how the weld looks to be honest it got it off thats all im worried about.

Well people say i wrecked the engine? which i havent. that i should of used a crank extractor but i couldnt because the threads where shot before i even got the engine which i said in the original post. And the fly wheel was broke in the first place when i got it so i didnt waste anything.

Just to show you i can weld.
Done with a migwelder
This is on 2mm aluminum harder to weld than steel:
