juddy That material looks just like the stuff I use!

Yeah Mike,I think that ally might have had something to do with the clunking noise coming from your Daughters car a while back  Thanks for that !

Mike might think Im dodgy, but the only heat treating I used was putting a heat gun on to take the chill out of ally before bending.I agree the "by the book" method would be to take it back to T 0 grade, bend it,then retemper back to T 6 after welding, but going to that amount of effort is difficult if the resources arent readily available. So hats off to Teem Trouble for doing a quality job.....[/quote]

i love the 2 stroke builds the best!!! Sweet job on that handmade y.... they are tricky but i'll say if you like the "works" look , then you won't be satisfied just moving the stock Y, even though the handmade sections take a bit more time.... i actually figured out that it took less time than fiddling with the original stuff....but im not a fiddler! Seriously though, nice work and what a sweet platform to start with!!! I have an 07 CR250 R i kept stock and i built up my 05 instead....your bike makes me wish i had done the reverse!!! i guess i could switch the shrouds but I'd know it wasn't my 07!!!!! Alloy Thunder Down Under!

Hey chachi243, thanks for the compliments mate i appreciate it. With all the info on this site its basically a case of researching all the builds and choosing the method that is with in your resources and skills.I would have liked to go the billet y route but im not a machinist so i went with the fabricated y section instead.
My bike is built on a 2002 cr 250 frame, although the frame and a few engine parts are the only second hand bits on the whole bike, the rest is all brand new.
