"Split the cases." That's you people's solution to everything.

Xylicon, pull the reed block too. Then check. Iggy is right. Primary compression is significant. I don't care what these other yahoos say.

After that, if you discover binding, pull the clutch plates so you can tell if it's main bearings or gearbox. THEN think about splittin the cases.

That clip sounded 100% normal to me.

Maybe its just me, but I honestly don't think splitting the cases is that much work. Any reason I have to split the cases doesn't bother me because it gives me a chance to inspect everything, especially the trans gears and forks. I can have a running bike down to 2 case halves in an hour easy and back together in 2 worst case scenario while appying loc-tite, cleaning gasket surfaces, copper spray coating gaskets, etc.
I don't know why so many people are so scared to split some cases, these are some really simple machines.

That's exactely what I told him when we were on the chat board. Take it apart peice by peice until you discover where the binding is.

It sounds normal except one thing, it won't rev out, just stays at a low rpm the entire time.

For shits and grins... I just pulled the plug on my bike...

If you cant tell the difference between primary only, and normal compression when moving the kicker, buy a quad.
