I was awaken this past weekend at my moms house by one.. doing 250+ knt's at well below 1000' off the deck.. rattled the windows in the house...

their winter training home is NAF El Centro which is 2 miles from my moms house. Thank god they are leaving after this weekend

They always change the direction of the landing/takeoff depending on the winds. The planes usually take off to the west, land in the west - but during the santa ana winds, they switch. Its a dustbowl down there too!
