Nope, Ali grabbed ahold of Lulu's leg...I have no idea what would have caused my gentilest quiestest dog to hurt her so bad. It was over as fast as it started but the damage was done...

Only thing I can think of is Ali got tired of being muscled around by her big sis and decided to teach her a lesson...

... can't say I blame her. Zeke and Wednesday go through that, but never to the point of requiring surgery

Theres a fine line between just another "squable" and surgery with dogs this size...

My experience, yes. I have only been bit by small dogs. Any large dog is capable of the same damage...

The point IS the amount of damage they can do. I have 2 alarm systems protecting my house when im not home...

naturally they are not people agressive, but were bred to be animal agressive. They were originally bred as farm help, to keep the larger animals in check, specifically to hold a pull by it nose during castration. Touch, strong and very obediant dogs. Mine are incredibly gental with the family. My boy and pull on their tails and ears and ride them like horses and they love it. Can't say the same for small dogs. Infact, anyone with children should own a larger breed ,not nessesarily a pit, but like a retreiver or sheapard. The reason they have such a bad reputation is idiot owners who train them to be people agressive. infact, if you really do your research, you'll find that pits are so people friendly that they are not recommended to be used as a guard dog.

LOL Well insurance is great for the $$$ Valuables that can be
replaced. And alarm systems are 2 points above worthless.
Christmas night we got a call from our alarm company to tell us the alarm was on and ask if we were home. Obviously we wernt so they said "ok we'll send someone out and call you back if anything is wrong". In just the time it took for the alarm to sound and the company to call my cell phone my house could have been empty.
The only reason we have it is for the Fire alarm response, if fire is detected they send the Fire Dept. automatically. So my alarm works like this:
Against theft, worthless, thats what the pits are for.
Fire, send the Fire Dept. to save my dogs.
Insurance, pays for the guns and the big screens...

but I can tell you that if anyone fucked with my boy, Wednesday would rip their throat out. They are very protective of their people, my dogs probably wouldn't stop a burglar if no one was home, but would definitly stop someone threatening us.

I think a true, pure, German Shephard is the best "guard dog", just ask the Police. Pit Bulls are so loyal they will gladly give their lives for their owners (family). Example: My dogs do fine in public, dog parks, Pets Mart etc., they are not agressive towards other animals EXCEPT around my house. This is fine by me and exactly how I want it!!

x2 or a dobie or rottie, but the dobie or rottie are more likely to turn on the owner.
I know both of my dogs would die defending my kids and thats the important part!

Exactly...
A good example of their abilites to tell right from wrong, in the past when I have had to punish one of the dogs in front of the others, I have seen their mom or sis come up to me and try to "pull" the dog being punished away from me to protect the dog, but never make contact with ME to try to interveen. They know im the boss and they never challenge ME.
This instinct has carried over to their siblings as well as others have told me about similar experiences...

I dont think a propely bread dog will ever truly "turn". This is a symptom of mental illness brought on by many things, but most often from inbreeding. I have witnessed a few of these "anomalies" in my life but it has always been with a dog that has had a questionable background or has been abused.
I pitty the foo who ever tries something with your kids in the presence of either of your dogs!!
