+1 to that, we just raced mine in the V2R and despite an air filter malfunction that allowed dust to eat the rings half way through the race, it still got us to the finish with power to spare!

Yeah i love my supermoto right now. It just isn't the most reliable thing or the quietest. I've hear a lot of great thing about the reliability of a xr650r always wanted to build one. Just thinking a supersingle would be a blast. Something like this.

My cr500 is awesome. Just seems like theres something wrong with it after i go out and really beat on it on the street. Right now i can't get it to stop leaking out right side case cover. Shoulda put some liquid gasket in there when i reinstalled the gasket.

As far as conversions go, anything is possible with hard work and careful thought.
I wouldn't put my xr650r engine in anything. It's a tank. leave it in what it's in, your not going to gain anything, unless your talking about a steel frame xr650L That's why My 500 will be done soon. I'm old tired and fat and want something not so heavy.
I owned a modified XR650R and bought the CRF450 the second it came out. I agree with the above X 3. That XR motor is 15 year old technology now, and it puts ut the same hp as a 450 motor and a little more torque- simply not worth it. It's a PIG. Get a husky or aprilla motor or something that actually is worth the effort. That xr motor is a giant pig (but a fun one)
