What the Fuck is Going On Here??????????????????????????????????

I've just got back from my local mega hospital, after 2 days in ICU and another 6 being tortured by 'machines that go Ping', and the site seems to have changed to one that looks like it's a gay porn one.............

Maybe it's all the bloody meds they've got me on, - I must still be whacked out of my brain on the cocktail of drugs they seemed to give me. It's your site Bob, but can you go back to posting pics of women, for what seems to be the few of us left that still go for them.

I wanna go back to hospital, I had the cutest pair of young nurses looking after me. :P

I mocked it all up again today, I still have a few odds & ends to finish. (fuel lines, chain, coolant lines, random bolts, cable routing etc...)
So with that said there are a few things outta place and missing.

The exhaust and side panel didn't turn out as ugly as I thought:

The silencer looks like its so angled, its going to hit the tire on compression... did you check this?

Push the bottom of the silencer "outwards", so it parrelles the centerline of the bike....

This is especially true when mounting a paddle tire.

hey red, i never got around to reading your thread but i was wondering, is that the genuine honda y section that youve reused?
also, how safe do you feel with that weld at the top of the y section?
looks a little sus!

agreed it appears you might have a rubbing problem when spring compresses, paddle only makes it worse. better check it out.

That is the CRF250R factory Y. I feel 100% safe because my main down tube is bottomed out inside of the Y about 2-2.5"
below the weld. The weld looks like that because I drilled out the old weld down in that section where it looks heart shaped.

The pic below shows that my Y had a heart shape from the factory.

This is what the OEM setup looked like before cutting:

This is with a black line to show how it looked when off, with the heart shape:

ahhh! ok. they are alot different to the 450 setups that ive been seeing.

http://i43.tinypic.com/2mfzvc2.jpg

looks like the 450 y gives you more weld area, prob cos of the heavier engine in the 450.

but i think using the honda y instead of a solid billet would have to save you a few pounds.
if i ever get the balls to attempt a af build, i would try to reuse the honda y also.

that upper Y weld doesn't appear to have very good penetration... next time tell your welder, more power! that is a location that is known to come apart.
