I give AJ a lot of credit for even coming to this site.
Seems like the site name ought to be changed to antiservicehonda.com or hateservicehonda.com.

Some of the topics seem like the site name should be bashcr500riders.com

As for the AF stuff, seems like alot of the service honda pics that show up here, are only of a very select few bikes. These wouldn't be early prototypes would they?

TTM, you do great work. There is no denying that.
Whats the cost difference between a production TTM and a Service Honda?

Price comparison and build quality will most likely be the deciding factors in a 500afc purchase. As well customer support.

Its been very clear that the photos posted are members bikes, all new production.

The photo posted above is a 2006 model year I believe.

This site exposed the issues with the S/H Digital ignition that supposedly didnt exist. For months and months their was "No problem" with them...Now he's recalling them.

This site continues to beleive that S/H has serious quality control issues...

AJ has had every oppertunity to rebuff any statements to that effect.... and hasent. Not a single one. Thats " bashing" or "hating"?

People like you contuine to keep your head in the sand.....

If you ever won lotto Steve, you tell me right now, who your going to buy a bike from...... and the reasons why?

I'm very interested to hear who!!!

Dont get me wrong here Bob.
Money of no object, TTM hands down. But money is an object to a lot of people. I have not seen any production $ amounts of the TTM bikes for comparison. Heck I dont even know if Mike is after production #'s that would put SH out of business.

Mikes build quality is excellant. No denying.
Not be being an AF owner really leads to be impartial on the subject.
I really have no desire to own one. I dont think the AF's make as good as a desert bike as the steely. JMO.

Based on the fact that money is an object to most people, I would like to see a cost comparison. For me and most others, the cost difference in the builds would play a big part.

I am not attacking TTM, just trying to ask a real world question.

As for the Service Honda Ignition, there have been plenty of documented issues on both sites. I have not defended it other then to say I haven't had an issues with mine. I also have not run a light yet. Which I have been told may be an issue.
I couldn't stand the rabbit kick starting drill so I created my own. So far the bike lights off in 1-2 kicks cold and almost always 1 kick hot.
Until I found my own starting drill it, was very frustrating.

yeah but his is a "works" bike isn't it?

Or is that what TTM's production bikes are?

well, see what a "WORKS" SH would cost

So thats the cost of a ready to go bike? frame and everything supplied?

I don't know, ask mike or ryan, but I was just trying to say that prices are shown. form what I understand, Mike charges like $3000 for a conversion if you supply chassis and motor.

by teemtrubble
Steve why don't you take Ryans build go online to SH and build his bike up then you know the difference and Ryan left out about $600 in suspension work and his rear shock is running one of our very first 100% machined in house pistons.

Danny it's $2500 and I don't need your motor.

Say what you will there is no comparison... none.

Mike, I didnt know if that price was retail or just a price for members.
I dont doubt that you would give members a deal.

I feel your builds are awesome.

It doesnt matter to me, I was just asking for Joe Blow the consumer.

by teemtrubble
Then why don't you do the research and post it up?

Thanks,

And it does matter to you or you wouldn't be posting and why would any manufacturer treat Joe Blow any different than Jane Doe? Because I don't know you I should give you less for your money?

I don't understand why all these guys are jumping to Service Hondas defense. WTF has AJ done for them that is so wonderful? Personally, if I were in the market for a new AF, I would deal with Mike simply because if you ask a question you get an answer. If you have a concern Mike will remedy it. We post questions here and they are answered. On the other hand the same questions and concerns are directed toward service honda or AJ and he instantly falls back to having to defend his work and fails to answer simple questions. As a joe blow, I built my own bike, so I don't care what they cost, but for the price that either TTM or SH charge, you fuking well better get a damn fine product. Seeing the comparison between the two, TTM hands down has the finest product, if theres a concern, you call Mike and talk to the guy building your bike. For the price quoted for Ryans build, and the support you recieve after the sale, I don't see where the question is there.

I am not defending AJ.
Have nothing to gain by doing so.
I was just trying to get to the jist of why someone purchases a product.
I ask a couple of questions and dont get direct answers.
WTH

What direct answers aren't you getting? Ask a direct question and you'll get a direct answer. I'm willing to bet on it. It just seems to me that alot of people jump to the defense of a company or a person that doesn't really stand behind it's product, customers or potential customers. Rather than to continue to plead the 5th, The very one specific question that is perpetually dodged by SH is simple, are they going to improve upon a product or not. When that question is posed, it turns into this giant shit storm. Ask Mike the same qusetion about his product and see what happens you know. Personally I feel that AJ kind of likes to get on here and stir up a bunch of shit because we'll all sit here and BS about it for how long now. On a side note, one of your kids got hurt pretty bad I thought, how are they doing?

You asked me a direct question?

I think you asked a general question and what's there to jist?

TTM
What I was asking for is a price on a base model turn key bike.

in other words, A guy decides he wants an alm frame bike.
How much for a "standard model" ready to guy?

Thats all
